Jacob Marking was in town from
Montrose and reports small grain in bis
locality all about destroyed by the dry
weather, and what is left is being eut for
fodder. He says corn however looks
fairly well yet

Mrs. Kendall of Ainsworth Neb.,
mother of Rev. J. L. Keadall of this
place arrived here from Chadron over
tb F. E. & M. V. railroad Monday noon
in company with Mrs. J. L. Kendall
where they bad been to attend the funer
al services of her son-in-law and his
brother who were drowned in Lone Tree
creek near that place. Mother Kendall
will stop with her son until annual
conference.
Hon. F. M. Harrington of O'Neal,
was in our city this week consult
ing with attorney Clark one of onr
local attorneys relative to the defensa of
the oaa of Irving Gililmore. Mr. Har
rington is said to ba one of tbe moat pro
minent attorneys in Nebraska and ha,
assisted by Mr. Clark will conduct the
case ia defense of Mr. 3iUinora; Mr. LL
taking tbe place of a A. O. Haher, Mr.
Oillaiore's former attorney which will
doubtless be tried at the September term

Funeral aer vires conducted by Rev,
Smith of the M. E. church at Crawford,

interred in the Harrison cemetery last
Friday afternoon.

Thomas Bell of Lusk passed through
Harrison yesterday on the passenger
train for his borne; having just returned
