The meetings which have been in
progress for the pat Ave week's, under
the direction of the pastor J. L. Kendall
were closed Sunday evening. As a re
sult, twenty-nine have been added to the
church. All have been wonderfully
blessed.

Among the pleasant callers who

Mrs. Chris. Christeosen of Andrews,
sister of Mrs. E. Rob war, of this city,
went west to Lusk on yesterday's pas
senger; called by sickness in the family
of her brother-in-law Mr. Ward. Mr.
Rohwer informed a reporter on this
paper that the children of Mr. Ward are
quite sick of pneumonia.
Rev. J. W. Kendall, Brother of our
pastor who was expected to preach here
last sabbath morning was called to Craw
ford Saturday eveoing. Meeting was
called early for Saturday eveoing aod he
preached a splendid sermon: after which
tbe Epworth League accompanied him
to the train and bode him Ood speed.
We noticed a little boy taking hi
little girl home from church one night
this week aod when be had reached the
vicinity of main street a lot of other
little boys who had congregated togeth
er on the street began to scream and yell
like a lot of wild animals. Shame oo

Word reached Harrison, last week
that the Chadron Recorder had iu doors
olosad by the Sheriff of Dawes county
but as usual the Recorder comes along
just the same and under tbe same man
agement. Wa notioe, however, that the
Recorder, after a severe stroke of Mc
Kioley prosperity, comes out flat-footed
and mora out-spoken for the reform forc
es thao it baa done at any time under
its preant proprietors.
All interested in tbe noble work of
building a catholic chapel la Harrison
will please tend their name and the
amount thsy are willing to donate for
that purpose either to this office or to
Bar. Father Muoeich at Crawford, and
Ood willing in a few short months too

It looks somewhat silly to us to see

Sheriff Dolly spent Wednesday and
Thursday of this week, at Ft. Robin-
sua, in the discbarge of his official du

We are pleased to be able to an
nounce that the mother ot Mrs. J. H.
Bartell, who has beeo quite ill for some
time, is now able to be up aod around.
The busiest man in town this week

R. G. Montgomery, the B & M claim
agent was in Harrison filing supercedas
papers with the clerk ot tbe courts of
this county in the case of Tinoin vs
B. & M. Railroad.
We found out what took Jo Varley
to Andrews last Sunday. You see he
has a girl down there. We promised to
give them a quarter of a column write
up, but spase forbids this time.
Among those who were up from
Andrews last evening to attend Wood
man of the World meeting we notioed
Frank Clandfelt, Ed SwarU, Chris Chris-
tensen, W. H. Davis and Thomas
Jones.

Tbe family of Mr. Francis liad a nar
row escape from poisoning one evening
this week, caused by eatiog canned oy
sters at their supper. The entire family
were more or lass sick from eating of
the poisoned shell-fish, aod hence Dr.,
Pbinnie's assistance was deemed nes
i in sis ry after which they all soon began
to improve, aod we ar j pleased to be able
to stats that all are now out of danger
Dr. Pbinoey had misfortune to loose
four head of cattle, two cows and two
calves, Tuesday of this week, caused by
their eating paint which Dr. usually
keeps in a work-shop situs ted in the
rear of hia borne, the door of the shop
being accidentally left open, the cattle
want in and helosd themselves. Five
head partook of tbe dainty dish, but only
four head died as the rssult of the feast.

Mrs. M. J. Blewett aod the children
returned from the valley on lost Satur
day where they spent a week with Grand
pa and Grandma Lindeman. The bahirs
seemed to derive a great deal of benefit
from tlie trip.

Mr. Thomas Davenport of Glen, was
in Harrison last Friday on business and
while here took the liberty of invading

Mr. Daveoport is an old resident of Gree
ley. Colo., aod he intends soma day to re
turn to that state.
Mr. and Mrs. Seorge H. Turner from
over in the valley came to town last Sat
urday to do soma trading aod stopped
over eight with Mr. and Mrs. Hewitt re
turning home Sunday. Mr. Turner said
the road waa so bad they were all day
getting into town.
Last Thursday evening about mid
night the wind raised and snow began to
fall and by day-light a veritable btiasard
was io progress, and by 10 o'clock it was
almost impossible to sea across the
street But by the middle of the after
noon the storm subsided, the skies be
came cleared aod the weather was
sertni and calm as a leautiful spring
eveoing. About thiol inches of soow
fall, but the most of it soon disappear
ed.
