A now county with

AND 8oo,ooo ACRES YET

Contains over forty-five miles of
rail oad and lias no county

SioUx county is the northwest county
of Nebraska. Il is about thirty miles
east, and west by about seventy miles;
north and south and contains j
OVER 1,300,000 ACRES j
of land. There nr.; niuie bright, spark
ling, small streams in the county than .
can be found in the same area elsewhere
in the state. Il has more pine tinils r in
it than all the rest, of the state combined
Its grasses are the richest and most nu
tritious known so that for stock-growing
it is unexcelled.
The soil varies from a heavy clay to a
light, sandy loam and is capable of pro
ducing excellent crops.
The principal crops are small grain
and vegetables, although good corn is
grown in the valleys. The wheat, oats
rye and liarlcy are all uf unusually line
quality and command the highest mar
ket, prices.
The water is pun: and refreshing and
is found in abundance in all parts of the
county.
The county is practically out of debt
and has over forty-live miles of railroad
within its borders, has a good brick court
house and the necessary fixtures for run
ning the county and there has never
Ikicii one dollar of county bonds issused
and hence taxes will lie low.
The J-'reniont, Klkhnrn & Missouri
Valley railroad crosses Sioux county
from east to west and the li. & M. lias
about .Vlteeu miles of its line in the
northeast part of tln county.
Tli climate is more pleasant than that
of the eastern portion of Nebraska.
There is stall
OVER 300,000 ACRES
of laad in Si.iux county yet open to
homestead entry. H is better land and
ninro desirably located than that for
which such rushes are made on the open
ing of a reservation. There is no rail
road laud in the county and for that
reason its sett lenient has been slow for
110 special oliort to get s.-t tiers was
made, us was done in the curly days of
th" settlement of the eastern part of the
state.

There are about l,."iU() people in the
county and there is room lor thousands
more.
Ilarri ;on is the county seat, and is sit
uated on the F, 10. & M. V. railroad, and
is as good a town as the thinly settled i
country demands. j
School houses and vlinrcbes are pro
vided in almost every settlement and are
kept, up with the times.
All w I'm desire to get a homesfead or
buy land cheap are invited to come and
see the country for themselves and judge
of its merits. Homesteads will not be
obtainable much longer and if you want
to use your right and get 1(10 acres of
land from Uncle Sam free it is time you
were about, it.
