On last Saturday Frederick Wenler
man went before Judge Wilson and Med
a complaint charging lA'wis Pfost with
assault and battery. He gave security
for cost and a warrant was issued and
placed in the hands of Sherilf Hartlett.
On Monday tlie defendant wa brought
up, the witnesses also h-ing on h ind.
Tlie defendant demanded a jury and the
case wu continued until Tuesday, and
resulted in i verdict of not guilty. The
defendant was discharged mid the. cost
taxed against the complaining witties.
County Attorney Outline prosecuted
and W. O. Patterson defended. The
trouble grew out of the possession of u
piece of land.
The iiiiiuial meeting of the assessor
