Wolves are reported to be doing a
good deal of damage to herds along Win
ning Water, especially near the line li
tweeri Sioux and lhiwes counties. Last
.Saturday a party went out from Mars-
land to hunt the pests hut was uot suc
cessful tt no dogs were ulon. One of
the party saw seven gray wolves, which
certainly Indicates that they urn numer
ous. It will lie necessary for the stock
owners to organize and pay a reward
for the killing of the pests. They de
stroy many hundreds of dollars worth of
stock every vear und increase in num
bers rapidly.
It is reported that Surveyor-elect
Ellis will not quahfy and that thu pop
candidate for that ollice in Dawes coun
ty who was defeated at the last election,

ing up the matter with a view to estab
lishing a residence in Sioux county and

IlBMJemsto se a cliame to work up
some business for which the county will
have to pay him if ho can have his plans
carried out. Th scheme is a very nio!
one for him, but it may lie that tlie com
missioners will not take kindly to it.
With the valuation and population of
the county on the decrease the lsiard is
not likely'to become a party to a scheme
to add to thu expenses of the county.
The experience of the past of putting
new-comers whoso object in coming here
was riminly to get ollice. has not ls;on
such that a repetition would meet with
the approval of the people. A number
of people have como to Sioux county for
the purpose of getting ollice, and as a
rule have been turned down by the eo
pj, but no case can bo recalled where
a man displayed tlm nerve that npicarn
in this instance.

Mr. Fred Miller, of Irving, III., writes
that he had a severe kidney trouble for
many years, w ith severe pains in his
back and also that his bladder was af

cures but without any good result.
About a year ago he liegan use of Elec

Elect ric Bitters is especially adapted to
cure all kidney and liver troubles and
often gives almost instant relief. One
