This issue of The Jocrkai. conUms a supplement in adtlition to the regular issue. Our readers are invitedto careful ly read what it says and weigh its mean ing. A short time ago the populist state folitical managers got up a supplement and sent it to all the apers of the parly in the state. It was an attempt to mis lead the people in regard to the actions of Norval and Maxwell. It came to the notice of IL T. Conley, formerly count attorney of Sioux county, and a strong populist. He investigated the matter aod found that the campaign document was not according to the record. II thereupon wrote a reply, or rather a refutation of the contents of the cam paign sheet referred to and his letter was published by Chas E. Verity iu the Paw nee City Independent, a populist paper and the publisher said editorially that the document sent out by the populists would prove a boomerang to Maxwell and lose him thousands of votes onU ought to tench the pop managers a son. It will be noticed that the clerk ol the supreme court has a statement ol iie records of his office. It pays to I honest in politics and tlie dishonesty ol Maxwell and his managers will result iu tlieir own discomfort. A votx for Nor val is a vote for honesty. j.
