Oldham, one of the Bryan strikers,
made a speech at Alliance a few dais

mi id the house was crowded. The Onp,
the democratic paper of Alliince, nam
Oldham's audience consisted of aboui
thirty people, ten of whom were populists
from Bemingford.
It is reported that the democratic
" managers of Indiana have become des

plish this they must nave cash and the
report is that the cash is to be furnished
by England. Funds are also said to U
furnished to use to carry Wilson's dis

of interest,

The suggestions made by Prof. Reeve an

certainly is a straw which btrongly in
dicates the fcel.ngs of the iu isses to

course was marked by a series of ova-
lions which have Uevei been equalled iu
the history of the nation and it was
mmJd clear in evtry instance that it
was the principles advocated anJ nut the
man (lersonally which was so warmly
received. At the time of the last presi
dential election the people were restless
and expressed a de-ire for a change.
That the change has I "-en experienced
none can deny and now the tide has set
in strongly and the desire to chance
back is expressed on every h ind. The
present campaign on the wliole is a cam
paign which clearly indicates that tlie
masses liuve had all they wan:, of such
ti'iie as have been experienced for the
past var or two and they want to get
hack to where they were before.
That there is a Vast falling olf in the
P'.puhal sentiment in Nebraska is evi
dent to all who have lieen watching the
progress of the campaign. Greater
clforts are tieing made by tlie managers
of thut purty than ev-r liefore ami in
this they are aided by the Bryan wing
of the democratic (arty, but in ull the
work there is a lack of interest an l en
thusiasm which characterize thrf meet
ings of that pirty in former years. The
men wh went mt j th-j .jrk si tip:y tw
cause they believed it to be r.ht have
found that tbey were being iinuVr iln

more regard for tlie interests of the peo
ple by tho olfice-sei-king element of the
top party thuD there is for the principle
f the neinocratb: party by Bryan. It is
i great attempt to gel into otflce by a
rowd largely composed of men wlm
have been otllce-seekers all their lives
and tbey will he pretty apt to be disap
pointed when the votes tttu counted iu
