Friday evening.

It has rained more or less every clay
for the past week. Tito water has fallen
mora evenly than has been tire rule so
that it has gone into the ground and not

suit the people are happy.
On last Friday evening lightning
struck a wir fern off W. . Haldwin'
place south of town and was thus carried
to where his cows were and killed two
line cows and a heifer. The loss is1 a
severe one for Mr Haldwin as it left hi in
without a cow of any kind.
On last Friday afternoon the ho'use
of Andrew Kirori, in tho canyon north
cast of tow n was destoyed by fire. All
the hoys Were out at work and the fire
was discoveied hv nasscm bv w ho were
returning from tho valley. Nothing to
speak of was saved as tho flumes wera
beyond control when discovered, Tho

of the week for a visit to Mr. and Mrs.

Mr. and Mrs. Ceo. II. Turner were in
from A'i!eloe precinct Saturday and
called at this ollice. It is the first time
Mrs. Turner has lieen in Ilrrrison for
eight mouths and her appearance is
proof that, she enjoys life on the ranch.

Parsons, both of Sioux county, Ne
braska. The above event was a surprise to all
the acquaintances of the contracting
parties, as not even the near relatives of
the bride knew the wedding was to oc-
ur until the evening before. The cere
mony was witnessed hy only a few of
the near relatives, after which an ele
gant supper was served which had been
prepared hy the bride prior to the ar
rival of the clergyman and guests.
Hoth the bride and groom are well and
favorably known to a large number of
people, having resided here for some
years, and the former at one time pre
sided over one of the departments of the
Harrison school. Their many friends
wish them a happy future and TriF.

Mr. Hovey, Sr., is building a house at
Edgemont and expects to move there
soon.
J. W. Arnsbtirger h.is sold his interest
in the sawmill to Perry Whito and will
leave for Montana in the near future. .

An adjourned meeting of the Sioux
Comity Agricultural Society will he
held at the court house in Harrison, on
Saturday, June '.'-id, for the purjiose of
perfecting arrangements for a county
fair to Iw held this fall and also for
makin an exhibit at the state fair. A
