rear of the wagon, took the girl under
his arm and slid out, and all escaped
uninjured, much to the relief of the

Creighton Theatre
At the Boyd, for three day, com
mincing with a matinee Sunday after
noon, "The Bicycle Girl" will hold
sway. Mins Nellie Mcllenry, a favor
ite, and one of the stan of Salisbury's
Troubadours, is In the cast, too, and
junt as full of her old-time vivacity and
rollicking humor as ever, In a role that
gives her every opportunity for the dis
play of her versatallty. "The Uicycle
Girl" is described as a cyclo-comedy, a
satire on the bicycle craze and "new"
woman insanity, and is said to be full
of fun, son? and dance. The local
wheelmen intend turning out in force
to the performance on Monday night
.
On Tuesday evening, May 5, Colonel
Robert G. Ingersoll, the renowed ora
tor and logician, will deliver a lecture
at Boyd's Theatre. It has not yet been
decided whether he will spesic on "The
Foundations of Faith" or "Why I am
an Agnostic" It may be necessary to
ask for a popular expression as to a
preference of those subjects.
Eighty students from the University
of Michigan, composing the glee and
mandolin clubs from grand old Ann
Arbor, will give a characteristic con
cert at Boyd's Theatre on the evening
of April 24. A most novel and excel
lent program has been announced.
The event will be assisted socially by
the extensive local alumni and a large
corps of patroneseos. On tne inn
inst. this club gave a concert at Cen
tral Mnslo Hall, in Chicago, and the
spacious auditorium was crowded to
the doon. The Chicago papen spoke
of the entertainment as being most
plowing and artistic One crltio even
went so far as to say that it was the
best college glee club that had yet ap
peared in Chicago.
Xaver Scharwenka, the great Polish

SCHOOL QUESTION THE ISSUE.
Topper and Laurler Will Oppose Each
Other In Winnipeg Politic.
Winnipeg, Man., April 10. Winni
I eg is to have a battle royal and the
parochial school question is to be the
Issue. At the close of parliament at
Ottawa, Sir Charles Tupper will leave
forWlrnipeg and will be invited by
the conservatives here to stand for
Winnipeg at the forthcoming general
elections. If he accepts the Liberals
will invite their leader, Hon. Wilfred
Laurler to oppose him, and here at the
birthplace of the troublesome school-
questiou, the battle between the giants
will be fought If it occurs it will be
the most exciting political battle in
Canada's history.
London, April 10. The St James'
Gazette this afternoon, commenting on
the debate at Ottawa on the Manitoba
school question, says that the school
bill is a farce, adding:
"Sir Charles Tupper may wish to
pass it, but the conservatives and lib
erals want to take the issue into their
constituencies. It is satisfactory to
know that the matter Is purely politi
cal and that the Manitobaas will not
fight for state rights."
The Globe, commenting on the same
subject, says:
"The tactics of the opposition put to
shame the most experienced obstruc
tionists in the house of commons and
can only injure the side they are in
tended to serve.
What C 1. Potter Says.
Omaha, Neb., Aug. 31, 1895. The
Howard Medicine Company. Gentle
men: I desire to say to all who feel the
strength of their manhood slowly slip
ping away, whose ambition is at its
lowest ebb, whose mindis beclouded,
and the senses dulled, when you feel
dyspeptic, and lose your 'self-respect,
that your blood is out of order, and all
you need is some of Howard's Vegetone
Blood Powder to tone up your system.
It will act almost instantly upon the
blood; you will feel the irenewed life
and vigor coursing through your sys
tem; you will feel the old-time grip In
your hands; your mind will be as active
as ever; your friends will observe the

you will feel like a new being. I have
not felt so well for five yean as I do
since taking one package of your Blood
Powder, and I feel as strong and active
as ever. I weigh 13 pounds more than
ever in my life. The change is so
marked that it is the subject of com
went when meeting my friends. I
recommend Howard's Vegetone Blood
Powder to be, as I believe, the greatest
blood-purifier on earth.
