"THE AMERICAN, THE NEW DAILY SCHEME. The friend at Omaha are Irving to raise sufficient capital to start an American "dally. They already have a fair start, but desire the assistance of rlends everywhere In the United Males. Can you lake one or more hares, on account of true American Urn? This Is their plan: In answer to repeated requests we have finally consented to undertake the table of startle? a Daily American In Omaha. This would be an a.y thing to do if people were to act as they talk Yet It will not be Impossible, even if they oo not, for there are thousands of patriots-who are anxious to have the news anxious to give the Protestant preachers as fair a hearing as Is ao orded lo P n an jritls nd itinosnt lecturers of the Jesuit Sherman stamp who will rcsDond to our call for sub scribers for stock to enable us to estab lish a Daily American. We have consulted with our friends, and they have suggested this plan: Increase the capital stock of the American Publishing Co. to 1150,000. Divide Into 10.000 shares of 115 each Begin business when 1100,000 has been subscribed Each stockholder must be a sub scriber. Subscription price of the paper, first year, will be $10;. (3 the second, and whatever the directors decide there after. The management of the company will be placed in the hands of a board of directors, who will be elected from among the stockholders by a majority of the stock represented at the regular annual meeting. The indebtedness will not be over 40 er cent, of the capital stock at any lme. I am not an A. P. A., for the reason that I am too old a man to attend the meetings. However, no flimsy excuse would pre vent me, like many weak-kneed Ameri cans, feeble as 1 am, irom endorsing the prlnciplesof the order. I endorse them to the letter, and will do all I can, while I live, to advance (be cause. I expect to work to maintain freedom of thought and freedom of speech which my father and grandfather left me. I wish to extend to my children and all the generations that shall follow them this liberty. Americans, now is the time to act! The Irish move and the popo's gold (which you have contributed) work in many ways secretly. Oh, how they hate American secrecy ! I am for the American flag, and no other flag, to float over American soli; for stopping all pauper immigration; for allowing no one to hold oflice that owes allegiance to any foreign power. C. It. ORANGE PRINCIPLES. On behalf of the Loyal Orange Lodge of the Cnlted States of Anierlca, ana with a lew of correcting the false Impression that enemies are endeavoring to convey to the minds of men who are unacquainted with Orange principles, are these few statements made: The Loyal Orange Institution Is a brother hood and sisterhood, bound by three ties Justice, Truth and Klghteousness. It has no hidden alms It Is Fraternal and Benevolent assisting and protecting members while living and their widows and orphans when they are re moved by death. It Upholds the right of private Judgment the untrammelled freedom of opinion; be lieves the public schools are an essential safeguard of the state, and should be kept free from ecclesiastical or sectarian control and that persons disloyal to the government who bold a mental allegiance to the pope of Borne should be rigorously eicluded from teaching therein. It believes primary allegiance Is due to the government which protects the lives, liberties and properties of Its cltltens, and that ecclesiastical authority should aoV under any circumstances, be permitted to meddle In the affairs of state, and that coer cion of acltlzen In the exercise of his or her right of franchise, under the guise of relig ious oriplrltual authority ihculd be in lihed as a crime against the state. That It la the duty of every cltlien to de fend the lawfully constituted authority and Institutions of our country against corrupt and Inimical Influences, as well as against armed assailants, to the end that our glori ous freedom be protected and transmitted Unimpaired to posterity. It encourages bablu of frugality and In dustry among Its members, and is proud to boast that Orangemen seldom become a public charge or accept pauper bread. It believes In the restriction of Immigra tion and the extension of time for the natur alisation of cltltens, and that the public ends shall be held for actual American cltl sens who become settlers. The Loyal Orange lustltutlon of the Cnlted States of America has certain requirements for membership: That a man shall bean actual American Citizen, having compiled with the lawsof the United States with regard to naturalization, and without a mental reservation. That the applicant shall be a Protestant, and also that his parents and wife shall be Protestants. That be shall be thrifty and successful In his business; honorable and truthful In bis dealings with his fellowman, and shall be known as a law-abiding citizen. That be will endeavor to give his children or any children under his charge at least a food common school education, being care ul to avoid all popish doctrines, and That he fcball be In sound health at the time of making application. It makes no difference where a man was born, so long as he meets the foregoln requirements. These are the qualifications reaulred o every applicant to the order, and we do not ininK that any patriotic American order can oner a petter arraT or orinclples and teach lngs. LODGE DIRECTORY.
