are to be enforced on heretics: 1st Infamy,
and the consequent disqualification for all
civil acta. 2nd Intestability, aa well active

others). 3rd Los of paternal power over
children. 4th-Los of dowry, and other
privileges granted to women. 5th Confisca
tion of all good. 6th That vassal and
slave and other are free from all, even
sworn obligations due to their lord or an
other. 7th Capital corporal punishment,
especially death, and perpetual Imprisonment.
27. The canon law forbid all toleration.
28. That metropolitans and bishop are to
e (-communicate him who grant liberty of
conscience.
29. No oath Is to be kept toward heretic
princes, lords or others.
30. Heretics ar to be deprived ot all civil
and paternal rights.
SI. The pope can absolve from all oath.
22. Every bishop la ordluary Judge In a
cause of heresy. The reason Is because the
bishops can ex-of&clo, and ought to extirpate
heretics, and Inflict upon them the dua pun
ishment, and to this are bound on pain ot
deposition. Besides, are the Inquisitors es
pecially deputed by the apostolic see.
Every bishop In his diocese Is thought to be,
and In reality Is, a natural Inquisitor, (liter
ally born Inquisitor), so aa to have the same
power with those already mentioned In a
cause of heresy.

Oath of the Clan-na-Gacl.
The following Is the oath taken by
the members of that famous Romish
Catholic society:
"I (name In full) do soleinnly swear In ti
presence of Almighty God, tbat I will labor
while life Is left la me to establish and de
fend a republican form of government In
Ireland; that 1 will keep aecret the namea
and everything connected with the Irish
brotherhood from all not entitled to knoWy
such secrets; that 1 will obey and comply 1
with tb constitution and laws of the same,
tbat I will preserve the funds of this
order for the cause of Irish revolution alone
as specified In the constitution; that I will
deem It my special duty and mission to
promote and foster sentiments of union,
brotherly love, nationality, among all

This oath the candidate is abjured to
keep at the hazzard of h is life. It was

November 17, 1894. Priests and bishops
act as chaplains for this holy (?) order.

Mr. E. A. Whitney, president of the

in his possession a trout which, when
caught, weighed six pounds and nine
ounces, and which was deemed worthy
of exhibition at the World's Fair.
