wife and two children of his son,

dentally turned over the lamp, which
exploded and threw burning oil over
the mother and children. The house
and contents were burned. The re
mains of the victims will be brought to
Charlotte for interment. During the
progress of the fire Alex Mclntyre, a
colored man, bravely entered the burn
ing house and brought the mot her out,
at the same time tmshinir a third child
before him, thereby saving its life. Mrs.
Dixon lived until 1 o'clock next morn
ing, but did not regain consciousness.
