Hail.
In our hail company wo have had
several losses reported lately. The
majority of them aro 6mall and only
partial. But some aro reported to bj
total losses. We had commenced to
ihlnk that our losses would only call for
from three to livo cents per acre, but
now it stands at about six or seven
cents per acre.
In this matter I am only guessing1,
however, and think I am on tho high
est probability at 7c. and as tho season
is over on small grain, I think ous los
ses will bo small for tho rest of tho
year.
t I will try to seo all who have report
ed losses by tho middle of September.
We will have headquarters on the
state fair grounds in Alliance building
during tho fir. Cjmo and seo us. ;
We invito correspondence on all in
surance subjects.
And as there aro so many men in this
stato who aro lnerestod in insuranco
matters of different kinds it would keep
a man busy to answer all questions by
lersonal lotter. Wo have made special
arrangements with this paper to fur
nish it from now until January 1st, for
35 cents. Now we hope that everyone
who is a member of any insuranco com-
fany will send us tho 35 cents either
or yourself or for some oae elso (but do
not send silver loose in a letter, send
P. O. order, express order or draft or
postal note, or stamps. Wo want to
keep informed on all phases of insur
ance and have adopted this plan and
hope at least to receive at least a thou

because we will thereby know that you
are interested in this department and

Hold on Mr. Republican tho war is
over. "Peace is declared; tho oath of
alicgianco makes a man a citizen. One
is just as gocd before the law as
another Wo sro citizens of the
United States. Let us bo brethern.
Mr. R-'publicanjnajbe you have for
gotten that such men as E kins, Key,
Longstreet and Marmaduke who were
as bitter against you in '61 as was Mr.
Fields held office under your dear old
republican administration. Why kick
now? If tho brass that is on your faco
had been on your toe, then it would
have been more consistent. Wo tcday,
are proud of tho clear record of our
nominees Weaver and Fiei is. They
aro for God, home and native land;
whilo tho two old parties are for
money, oppression and monopoly.
Tho burdens aro too heavy for poor
trampled humanity to bear, and relief
must como soon. "To the
front" should bo tho watch
word of every farmer and Jaborer.
Down with monopoly and money
sharks give us liberty once more.
Tho millions of Africans in the south
were called slaves, but how much more
are 40,000,000 of American citizens
bound in abject slavery atd tyranny.
The time has come when these shackles
must bo struck off and wo be free and
independent. We can and will fcucceed.
Our cause is just and darkness must
flee beforo the light. Farmers, read
for yourselves. Don't ba hoodwinked
by these windy tramps.
When this republican gas bai es
caped they will say: "What shall we
eat, and wherewithal shall wo be
clothed, for our olnce is gone, tho in
dependents are in, and we are ruined."
Vote in November for your own inter
est, vote for your neighbor's interest,
vote lor our nation s interest, it you
do, you will seo Weaver and Fields go
into the white houso in March,
