THE FARMERS' ALIIAN CE, LINCO I jN, NEB. , SATUBDAY, NOY. 29, 1890. Aa Appeal for Relief to the Alliances' of Lancaster County. ' BROTHERS , AND SISTERS iThe failure ; of H"WsUh ? the western ind southwestern parts of the State has left mauy of our brothers aud sisters desti tute. So great ia this destitution in many places that , there is urgent and imperative need for immediate help. An investigation - has been made by committee appointed by Got. Thay er, consisting of State Agent J. W. Hartley and Rev. Mr. Martin. It ap pears by the report of this Committee that there are many hundreds of fami lies! who are entirely destitute, having raised no crop whatever. Tnese people need grain, food, cloth ing, bedding everything in fact that goes to make up the needs of daily life. Organized work is now going for ward in the towns of the eastern part of the State to procure relief, in re sponse , to the Governor's appeal. It seems proper that the Alliance should also make an organized effort for the same purpose. This is a greater emer fencythan has ever occurred in the istory of this State. There are at least ten thousand people in thewest ern part of the State who must be sub sisted for the next six months. A depot for supplies has been opened in the Webster Block, on 11th street. Lincoln. All contributions delivered there before November 30th can be shipped free. We now appear to the Alliances of this county to organize for this relief Work. Each Alliance should appoint a Relief Committee who should collect supplies, of all kinds, and ascertain what future supplies can be secured. Any Alliance nav ing gooas io snip soon can obtain shipping directions by applying to R, R. Randall, Shipping Agent for Lincoln. Relief Committees should be able to report at the next meetine of the County Alliance, Dec. 6 th, at 1 P.M., when a systematic system for securing relief can he arranged. O. HULL, I. F. DALE, President. Secretary. A Great Sale of Horses. We invite attention to the sale of French horses by James Schultz, to be held at Watioo on December 4. Good horses are an absolute necessity to the prosperity of the western agriculturist, and in buying from such a man as Mr. Schultz there is no risk attached. We append the manly announcement from his sale catalogue, and there is not a man on earth who knows him but what believes he will do exactly as he says. He said in this office recently that he would sell his horses at whatever price the public put on them: ANNOUNCEMENT. . In offering this selection or fercneron ana French draft norsea to buyers at publjc auc tion. I tafte especial pleasure and pride, fully bellevintr them to be beyond the average in breeding1, superior in quajity and of unex colled individualitr. Whila these horses may not be of the flash type, they Co not lack any -o' the essentials of beauty and conforma tion; they are of a most userul type and of indisputable excellence as breeders. They have been selected by a man experienced in the art of buying hordes across the water, -with sagacity and a good general knowledge of the requisite essentials of a horse for American farmers, and purchased with a view to the purpose to which they would be adapted by purchasers. Thece horses are all young, of the low-down blocky sort, with rood, clean bone of good size, and feet which cannot be beaten. They are warranted sure foal getters. - Some of them hare been tried as breeders, and I can vouch for these from personal knowledge; I will cheerfully guar antee the others, having the u I most faith in their superiority. In case one ehould fail to meet these requirements the buyer will have no trouble in rectifying all such difficulties; by coming jto me he will be amply reimbursed for ansu failure. I have been in the 3fie business for some years and my horses Donea, ana Biro ix, wita exutnieui leec ana full of merit. IilTertUem with no fears of their not answeriia to these qualifications, or thatpr seat buyet lwill hesitate in future to buy my horses, having participated in this ate. 1 hope to see-vtauy buyers, both friends and strainrera. andv-ut to satisfy both The - safe will be conducted 05 a strictly first-class, honorable basis,, and a.I are invited.
