received an offer to become interlocu
tor of George Evans' minstrels. Evans
had Jim Corbett in this position two
years and now hopes to land a dia
mond celebrity for the job. In addi
tion, Evans is angling for the services
of Red Dooln, Mike Donlin and Christy
Mathewson, all of whom have appear
ed in vaudeville. Incidental to his
show, Evans has a baseball team and
he would back that team against all
comers if he could get Cobb, Matty,
Dooln and Donlin to join. -

Miller, the young pitcher signed
for the White Sox, is the former pal of
BUI Langs on the Des Moines team.
