In one part of tha article tbs impres
sion Is left that silver dollars are
deemable in gold. Nothing could be
farther from the fact. This is the goal
wnicn gold bucrs are strenuously striv
ing to reach. If they can but reach that
to them all important base, they can
then give a tangible gold-bug reason
why a silver dollar is worth a hundred
cents.
Brother Johnson, though no doubt
unintentionally, admits that all our
paper mousy is worthless In foreign
countries, While it is a fact that there
is much truth In this, not only in foreign
countries but also to our own country,
yet It Is not all truth. The kind that Is
worthless is that which professes to
have a metallic redeemer, This is the
only kind of worthless paper money the
worm nas ever Known.
It seems strange, nevertheless It Is
trus, that those who are the worst di
miners of worthless pnxir money are its
only promulgators. Strang", too. it is
that those loudest in their laudations of
"intrinsic value money" (money "worth
as much after going through a ore and
melted into a shapeless mass as it was
before the lint staniD was destroyed")
should be the advocates of a money
which, according to their "Intrinsic vat
uh" test, is not worth ono-twentintb tinrt
of 1 f wiit ami which In their fire-value
tests would disappear la thin ushes. In
reality none of this so-called money is
iiiouey vfrtuullv it Is counterfeit. I say
counterfeit for the reason that all money
issued without warrant of law Is not
money, but counterfeit, whether issued
from the vaults of some corporation or
from the swamps or caverus of some
mountain wilderness. All the authority
existing In our country for the issuing
making of money Is by the constitution
vented in congress and cannot be dele
gated. Money Is made by the ant of law
and only by that fiat, and never can bs
ar r other than flat money, All of hor Is
tun, counterfeit, and all who thrust
sucu money upon tbs people under
whatever pretense, are criminals crlmi
11 a Is not only to the extent to which
they oofrnud the public, but criminal
violators of the organic law of the land.
The man who issues counterfeit money

making power cannot only issue couu'
terfeit money without fear of Imprison

never allowed governments to Issue flat
paper money when it was possible to
prevent It. falling lu this, either some
subterfuge making such money in some
way dependent upon such money now

the law to discredit and degradslt. For
instance, our greenback. Knowing full
well that when the people once under
stood the safety and the blessing of gov-
eminent flat money that their power to
levy in ours upon industry win oe at an
end. To believe these fellows I to be
lieve that flat money Is the worst 6b
surdity and abomination known, a
something that no honest man could
possibly think of defending. Yet when
we look buck Into history, history with
in the memory of thousands of people
now living, or digest tho money power's
banking bill now before congress, ws
discover that this same vile flat paper
money this serpentine octupus be
comes an angelic creature, with power
to bless and to transform all animate
nature. This, though, only when Hhy
iock is to reap tne benefits of such flat.

world? This, too, notwithstanding that
Hhy lock's infamous discrediting brand is
spread all over its back "mutilated,
as Thad Stevens, the author of the orig

Brother J, gives some very interesting
and basic facts upon the price of gold
facts which It would be well for all stu
