We will have bead quarters id a tent in "newspaper row" with the Nebraska Independent. We will be theiefrom Monday afternoon un til Thursday. On Wednesday night we will have a meeting at some place down town. (I will try to let you know next week in this department.) I will here outline an order of business: Address by the president covering the historv of mutual insurance in Nebraska; an address by the secretary giving in de tail the object and benefits to be derived from an association of all the mutual in onrnnna cnmnanies in the state. Discus sion. The following topics will also be brought up for discussion. 1st the mean ing of the two-thirds clause, of section 8 of our mutual insurance law. 2nd, if man Iorrh a tmrt of his horses by lightning should his policy be reduced to f-nrrennond with the amount he receives for damage done. If so what is the rule. 5th W'hn should we suRKort for auditor and attorney-general, and why? 6th, do we ti1 our present law changed? II so what change should we make? If not nrinnld we use our instrumentality in . nassinir a town mutual insurance law? 7th, is the present report that is sent out by the state auditor, lor annual reports , iin i 1. A. ; satisfactory to an: u dot, wnai im provements should we recommend. I presume that the above is enough for three days' work, however, if a num ber of companies are present all will learn the benofit to be derived from the meeting of representatives of different companies. When you come to the fair vronnd. come right to our tent, sit in our cushioned chairs, and proceed to put vour feet on our table at once, ana make yourself at home generally. If you can't tome to the fair, and are particularly in forested in anv one or all of these sub jects, a communication from you is de sired. If you desire to reach us auy time after Mondav of fair week, address in care of Claus Seivers, Omaha, Nebraska. We are particularly desirous that every member of our company take this paper from this time until the election, hence we ask you to get np a club of ten or raore members at tea cents a piece. Single subscription fifteen cents. REPORT. The Lancaster county company is now nearly five years old, the cost to the members of the mpany who have been . members since the company was organ ized has been membership fee $1.50, as sessment No. 1, $1,00, assessment No. 2 $.50, assessment No. 3, $2.25, assess ment No. 4, just now being sent out, $1.59 per thousand dollars, total cost per thousand dollars insurance, for five years, $0.75 or about one-third what it would have cost in any stock company. Assessments No. 3 and 4 both occur ring this year, will seem rather high for those who have lately come into the com pany this is the highest amount that bas been paid during uu iui four years, and yet, it falls short of the amount of the average annual payment of stock companies rate. We hope that every company luui comes to Omaha will give a report of their business for five years after the above fashion.
