Henry F. Goos, who has been at
the Clarkson hospital at Omaha tak
ing treatment and recuperating from
an operation, has been able to re
turn home and Is now resting up at
the family home on Locust street.
The host of friends over the county
will be pleased to learn that he Is
doing so well and it is hoped may
toon be able to resume his usual ac
tivities as a long time figure in the
business section of the city.
WALLACE ARNOLD INJURED .
Wallare Arnold suffered a broken
vertebra Tuesday while engaged in
working on a WPA project in Elm-
Iwood. The young man was brought
on into riattsmouth and given medi-

The Rotary club Tuesday had Rev.
Paul Dick of the Mynard U. B.
church, as the guest speaker, he tak
ing as his subject, "Success," the
speaker telling of the need of faith
and hard work in the various tasks
to which a person might find them
selves dedicated.
George K. Iletrlck served as the
rhairman of the meeting and intro
duced the various features of the pro
gram. "The club very regretfully received
the resignations of Edward II. Schul-
!hof, and Frank M. Bestor, both char
ter members of the club, they be
ing forced by their health to give up
the attendance nt the meetings and
which is necessary to the member
ship requirements. Hotli have been
very much missed by their associates

Saturday evening a group of young
men, comprising five, left Plattsmouth
for an extended vacation and visit!
in Colorado and surrounding states.
The group comprised John Rishel,
clerk in the Knorr's Variety Store,
James Mauzy, Charles Grosshans,
Bruno Reichstadt, and William Rosen
crans. They intended to spend the
next ten days or two weeks before
returning home.
UNDERGOES TONSILECTOMY.
Miss Jean Luke, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. W. A. Luke and sister of
Mrs. Charles Howard of this city,
underwent a tonsilectomy operation
at the Bryan Memorial hospital in
Lincoln Friday morning. She with
stood the operation very well and
is well on the highway to recovery.
