GIEL BORN TO CLAR
ENCE McKINNEYS SUNDAY
An 8 pound girl was born to
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence W. McKlnney
at the Methodist hospital in Omaha
Sunday evening at 10:30. The little
one was named Norma Gale. Mrs.
Josephine Janda and Mr. McKinney
were at the hospital this afternoon
and returned home with the report
that the little daughter and mother
are progressing very nicely. Mrs.
McKlnney was the former Miss
Norine Rea, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Rea, who reside in Waverly,
Missouri. The McKInneys reside at
14 23 Main street.

OMAHA VISIT0BS HERE SUNDAY
JOINS JOURNAL FAMILY
Bert Jameson of Omaha stopped in
Wednesday evening en route home
from a trip to Weeping Water to
look after his farming interests, and
had us enter his subscription to the
Semi-Weekly Journal for the coming
year. For a long time, when they
were residents of the Weeping Wat
er neighborhood, the Jamesons were
regular readers of the Journal. "Ever
since we moved to Omaha" (several
years ago), said Mr. Jameson, "my
wife has been wanting the Journal,
ul we just never got around to sub
scribing till now."
The Journal's wide coverage of
Cass county news and the same low

weekly papers charge, is bringing
many new readers, whom we welcome j

The members of the George Olson
family here have received the report
of the good condition of Mrs. George
Olson who is in the University hos
pital. Mrs. Olson was operated on at
the hospital some time ago and since
that time has been recuperating
there, and it is hoped that she may
bo able to return to her home soon.

Miss Marjorie Emmert, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Emmert of
this city, returned to Plattsmouth
Sunday after spending the past
month in River Sioux, Iowa, visit
ing with her brother-in-law and sis
ter, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Osman.
Mr. and Mrs. Osman are former resi
dents of this city.

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kerbel of
Omaha were In this city Sunday
where they visited at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gradoville, Sr.,
the former being a brother of Mrs.
Kerbel.
Mrs. Kerbel has just returned to
her home from Portland, Oregon
where she spent the last three
months visiting her son. Dr. Adolph
Kerbel who is to be married some
time this summer. Her son is a
medical graduate of the Creighton
University in the year of 1928. Fol
lowing his graduation he was sent
out to Portland where he has since
been stationed. He is the only son
of Mr. and Mrs. Kerbel.
DEATH OF MRS. N. E. SCOTT
Word has been received here by
leaders of the Woman's club, of the
death at her home In' North Platte
on Friday of Mrs. N. E. Scott, a for
mer state president and long leader
of the club work in the state. Mrs.
Scott was known to many of the
local club women with whom she
was actively associated.

Mr. and Mrs. A. II. Garrett and
daughter, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa,
with Floyd Garrett of Nebraska City,
were here Saturday to spend a short
time and at Omaha where they visit
ed with Mrs. G. W. Olson of this
city at the hospital. Mrs. Olson Is a
sister of the Messrs. Garrett.

Mrs. George Bouzeoten and chil
dren, Mary and Gus of Chicago, are
here to visit at the hom of Mr. and
Mrs. George Con is, Mrs. Bouzeoten
being a cousin of Mrs. Conis. They
will also visit other relatives in this
part of the west.

time visiting her sinters at that
