Mrs. Ella Fischer, who has had charge of the Fairmont Creamery for a number of years, has resigned and left the first of this week for Bible School Sunday, April 9th "Paul Preaches the Risen Christ" (Acta i3:16, 23-31; I Cor. 15:19-22) With this lesson the greatest enter prise the world has ever witnessed was set in motion, namely the con version of the world to God through, the preaching of the Gospel, and a complete reconciliation of man and God in Jesus Christ. That is a large program, which required special pre paration and equipment to carry out. All this Avas ready and at hand. A church established by disciples from the motherchurch at Jerusalem, at Antioch in Syria, was filled and di rected by the Holy Spirit, to take the Initiative in this matter Well may it be said in the words of Paul: "The love of God constrain ed us" (2 Cor. 5:14), to share the Joy of our life in Christ with others. After fasting and prayer, being in proper mood to listen to the spirit's voice, they receive instructions, how to proceed in the matter. "Sepa rate were Barnabas and Saul, for the work whereunto I have called them." Now follows the solemn farewell 9:ene; fasting, praying, laying on of hands, they sent them away. Here is the simple procedure: God's call; the sending by the church. No man . has a right to go as preacher except he is "called" of God; no church has a right to send a man until God calls him. These two preachers had a message the ever living Christ yes, the resurrected Christ. That must be the message of every perach cr, in every sermon, because of the uncertainty qf life.' And by the way, If man and nations would "seek first the Kingdom of God and His right eousness, all other things would ad just themselves." Their missionary tour was a great success. Opposition by Bar-Jesus, or Elymas was overcome and the first recorded convert is Sergius Paulus, the governor of the isle of Cyprus. The fundamental doctrine of justi fication was emphasized by Paul, v. 39. Few people understand this doc trine because it is' rarely preached Why not? Since this is also our Easter lesson, we study in connection with the foregoing the resurrection of the body. This should prove a very blessed -experience, because it embraces our cherished hope of ever living with Christ. Paul has given the church the most comforting chapter, that is used much in bring ing comfort to the bereaved. He es tablishes first the resurrection of Omaha, where she will visit friends. Mrs. Fischer did not know definitely where she would locate. Dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Wall last Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Thomson and sons of Palmyra and Mr. and Mrs. Paul B. Johnson. Orland and Berdette Bennet of Alvo called at the home of Mrs. S. E. Allen last Sunday. His house, which was badly damaged by fire several months ago, has been nicely repaired. Election Results in Eagle The results of the election held here Tuesday were as follows: " For members of the village board: Jess Wall, 87; Bert Lytle, 84: Ivan Caddy, 62: William Muenchau, 46; William Trumble, 40; Valley Trum ble, 35. First three named elected. In the school election the two high who were elected to membership on the board were Clark Gonzales, 100, and Guy Jones, 9G. En route back to Plattsmouth last eve ning they stopped at Weeping Wa ter and spent some time visiting Mr. Davis' Brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Troy L. Davis. Lesson Study! By L. Neiteel, Murdock, Neb. Jesus, which is affirmed by a great number of witnesses. Paul recites five appearances of Jesus; the record is eleven. It was very difficult to make this phenomena clear to the Corinthians, go he has to go quite in detail of this cardinal doctrine for with it stands or falls our salvation, and the whole building the church of Christ. Many of the Corinthians could not compre hend this great gospel; so Paul writes, as he had always preached that Adam's sin of disobedience bad brought death into the world, and all the misery that human beings are suffering. That was not God's plan when He made man. He was made in the image of God holy, sin less with the capacity to rule over the creation, to be Lord over all. But, alas, one link in the chain was broken, and God's whole plan with man was destroyed. Man became a slave to his passions and desires, he lost control over the creation, so it was up to God to find a way to re store the things that man had lost; this could only be done by a man not by an angel; so the Son of God volunteered to restore man into the favor of God. Jesus paid the price of man's transgression. A holy, sin less man alone could do that, only such offering could a holy and just Cod accept and He did, "This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased." Man is reconciled to God. Now Jesus pleads for men to come unto Him and receive, upon repent ance and faith in Christ, the gift of God eternal life here and now; and with it the hope of a life with Jesus in glory The resurrection of Jesus is the guarantee of our resurrection, we 3hall be like Him. With -what kind of body will we arise? A spiritual body; a body adapted for the life in the spirit world. We have an animal body, that gets hungry, thirsty, tired, ouffers pain and death; the spiritual body will be free from all those de sires and afflictions. Our bodies will not lose their idenitty, we will be known arid know our loved ones. Like wheat produces wheat, but un dergoes the process of death and de cay, so our body, but In the resur rection we will appear in a spiritual, glorified body, free from all earthly sorrow and desires. (See Rev. 7: 16, 17). This hope will be realized by those that love God, believe ia the Lord Jesus and are the temple of the Holy Ghost here the Over-comers. S. Devoe, and Mrs. Pete Carr. Mrs. Mullen stated that forty-four out of the fifty-two Wom m's clubs were represented. Miss Wilhelmina Henrichsen, cor responding secretary of the organ ization, presented two Tlattsmouth liigh school girls, who were guests, Misses Whipple Leonard and Helen liiatt. Following the business session Mrs. Ed Ofe, program chairman, pre sented the group of high school stu dents who were heard in several readings and musical numbers. Mr. Fowler, musical director of the Plattsmouth high school, presented a mixed octette, comprised of Misses Wilma Swatek, Rosemary Steppat, Aileen Reed, Eleanor Giles and Joe York, John Jacobs, Ralph Stava, and Bill Knorr. They were heard in two selections: "Drink to Me Only with Thine Eyes," and "Dear Land of Home," Miss Ruth Westover serving as the accompanist. At the conclusion of the musical program Mrs. L. W. Egenberger, vice-commander of the Cass and Otoe county division of. the Woman's Field Army, presented Dr. W. S. Eaton who was the guest speaker of the evening. Dr. Eaton spoke on the sub ject, "The Control of Cancer." Dr. Eaton gave a very Instructive and interesting talk as to the leads to cancer. He said before we start out to control a thing we should know what we are going to control. Ho presented a lengthy discussion on tumors, listing two kinds of tumors, the malignant tumor, prov ing very dangerous and susceptible to cancer. "All cancers are tumors, some tumors are cancers, but all tumors are not cancers," Dr. Eaton pointed cut. "We must educate the people to see their physician, even though they have not or think they have not cancer, and get a thorough examination before it is too late, so that in case a growth is starting it can be readily checked before the disease is too far spread through out the system," Dr. Eaton added. There is no pain in the beginning of any kind of cancer. By the time pain occurs, the cancer is usually too far advanced that it is hopeless. Dr. Eaton said, "Until we can acom plish this purpose of educating the people of the United States to see their physician before it is too late, then the world and its leading phy sicians cannot progress in controling cancer." The talk was very much enjoyed by everyone present, due to the fact that the month of April is the "Con trol of Cancer" drive conducted by the Woman's Field Army, of which Mrs. L. W. Egenberger is vice-commander of the Cass and Otoe county division. following the program the hos tesses, Mrs. J. A. Capwell, Misses Amelia Martens, Garnette Claire, Mrs. George Hetrick, and Mrs. J.
