Aldrich, president of the Nebraska Safety Council has issued the following statement: "After January 1. 1939, owners of motor vehicles not displaying an 'in spection sticker' will be operating in violation of the statutes. The pro visions of Legislative Bill 147 require that every resident owner of a motor vehicle, trailer or semi-trailer in the state of Nebraska must have his ve hicle inspected at an official inspec tion station at least once in each year. Jack Culiak and wife, formerly of Weeping Water and Manley but later living at Lincoln and Omaha, now making their home in Omaha, were visiting friends in Weeping Wa ter last Monday and Tuesday. To Enjoy Christmas on Farm. Raymond Alfred and Ruth Hart who make their home on the farm east of Weeping Water are to enjoy Christmas dinner at the farm home and will have their sisters. Misses Anna Hart and Miss Mildred Hart as their guests. This will put most of the family at the old farm home on Christmas day where they will enjoy being together. Attend Job's Daughters Inditiation. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Oldham, both members of the Order of Eastern Star were over to Plattsmouth Tuesday evening, where they hold their mem bership, to enjoy the initiation of members into the bethel .. of . Job's Daughters. This meeting was attend ed by a large number of Masons and Eastern Stars. The Song of Christmas. The members of the Congrega tional church of Weeping Water with the aid of many from other churches presented a chorus which numbered over -fifty voices in a fine program and cantata known as "The Story of Christmas' last Sunday evening i. The above map shows the cities in which official inspection stations for motor vehicles are located. Persons residing within the shaded area are within a short distance of an official inspection station. This shaded area includes the thickly populated cen ters and about 90 per . cent of all registered vehicles in Nebraska. A capacity audience was present to enjoy the splendid program. The Na tivity scene which was placed out side the church representing the stable where the Saviour was born which was filled with animals and at night, lighted by electric lights, made a most impressive scene, giving a visual idea of the first Christmas. Programs at Churches. On Wednesday evening the mem bers of the Christian church gave a very entertaining program consist ing of Christmas numbers, a play ap propriate to the Christmas season with Christmas carols interspersed. On Thursday evening the Meth odist church presented a very inter esting program given by members of the Bible schools and the church. The program was attended by many members from all the churches in the city. The evening's entertain ment consisted of readings and songs all appropriate to the " Christmas season. ' Friday evening the members of the Menonite church held an enter tainment and instruction of the mem bers of the church and all who cared to attend. This was a very beauti ful service and was given by the members of the church and Bible school. Many members from the oth er churches attended this service. Masons Hold School. At the Masonic hall last Monday evening was held a school on the secret work of the Masonic lodge, at which Raymond Cook and Luke Sav age, members or the grand lodge of Masons in Nebraska and being a committee to take examination of the members of the order in order that the work may be kept uniform An oyster supper was enjoyed by those present following the school of instruction. Women Enjoy Christmas Party. The members of the Weeping Wa ter Woman's club were gathered last Tuesday at the pleasant home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence E. Tefft. The ladies enjoyed a pleasant program of a Christmas nature. A very fine luncheon was enjoyed as well as the exchange of gifts. To Have Christmas Dinner. Mr. and Mrs. S. Ray Smith are entertaining at their home in south Weeping Water on Christmas day when they will enjoy a turkey dinner ,the turkey - being shipped from Hardy, Mont., by a sister of Mrs Smith, Mrs. 'John Swindle. Mrs Swindle desired very much to come to Weeping Water for Christmas but was unable to get away. Those to be present for the occasion are Oscar Domingo and family, Frank Domingo and family, Henry Snell and family, Peter Anderson and family, all of Weeping Water and the family of Chris Snell of South Omaha.
