Veeping Water John Cole was called to " Omaha Tuesday where he had some busi ness matters to look after. Ross Shields has been laid up with an attack of lumbago, which makes it difficult for him to keep at his work. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Sudduth and family of east of Murray were guests for the day last Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Gibson. Wm. Bourke of Murdock was a visitor In Weeping Water last Tues day looking after business matters and visiting friends in this section. Mr. and Mrs. Hall Pollard of near Nehawka were called to Weeping Water Tuesday morning to look after some business matters for a short time and while here were meeting a number of their friends. Mrs. Jay Emberry has been feel ing Tery poorly for the past two week and has been kept to her home and bed a good portion of the time with a heart ailment. Recently, how ever Bhe has been showing some improvement- , Messrs. A. W. Dennis and Lester Dennis of Los Angeles were gnests for a few days last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. I. Corley, Mrs. Joan Carter and many other friends in Weeniner Water where they for merly resided. Frank Farnham, a resident of the Nebraska Masonic Home at Platts mouth was a visitor in Weeping Wa ter last Tuesday and was a guest here at the Louie of hi3 nephew and wife. Mr. and Mrs. Jay N. Emberry, all enjoying, the visit. Messrs. Fred and David Lenz of Elmwood were in Weeping Water last Tuesday morning where they had come to- look after some busi ness at the farm bureau office. While here they were meeting with their many friends in Weeping Water. Mrs. Fred Linville, who Was so seriously crippled several months ago as the result of an auto accident, and who has been kept to her bed for many weeks, has been making good gains of late and for the first time was able to walk 'down town Mon day of last week. She was taken to town in a car before but this is the first time she was able to walk down. Enters Hospital at Omaha. -Mr. and Mrs. Frank Buck were in Omaha last Wednesday where they arrange for the" entrance of Mrs. - . . M - , . A. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd M. .Cole were pleased when their two daughters and husbands of Lincoln came' to spend the day with them. A very en joyable visit was had by the entire family circle. The daughters and their husbands are Mr. and Mrs- Jack Moore and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kinds. - , Was Fifty-four Sunday. Eugene E. Moore, the genial and accomplished mechanic at the repair department of the Cole Motor com pany took the day "off last Sunday and with the family celebrated the passing of his 54th birthday anni versary. Mr. Moore was born at Marysville. Mo., and some 27 years ago came to Nebraska, first locating at Murray where he engaged in the automobile activity for a number of years, later serving as mecnanic- ai Union and some seventeen years ago came to Weeping Water. On the birthday the Moore fam ily were pleased to have two uncley of Mrs. Moore. Wm. Frazier of Den ver and Leonard Frazier of Greeley, Colorado, as their guests for the day. Home From the East. Tuesday Mr. and Mrs. R. F. ratter Bon of this city, Mr. and Mrs. John Weber Walter and children, John Charles and Mary Lou, of Falls City. Mrs. George H. Falter and daughter, Susan, of Atchison, Kansas, were at Omaha to meet Mrs. Alice Dovey Haz zard and son, John Edward, who with Mr. and Mrs. Theodore White, are en route from Hollywood to New York City. The California party arrived on the private car of Mr. and Mrs. White on the "Challenger" from the west and stopped for a short time in Om aha, the interval permitting a de lightful steak dinner with the Ne braska relatives ' of Mrs. Hazzard, Mrs. Patterson and the Mesdames Falter being sisters. The party are en route east where they will spend several months at New York City and at Great Neck, the Hazzard home, before returning to the west. Mrs. 'Hazzard .and son had the pleasure of a, visit this morning at Chicago with -Mr. and Mrs. George F. Dovey, the former the youngest brother of Mrs. Hazzard.
