Rural power loans must be repaid in full by patrons,
plus 3 per cent interest. No grant; no tax monies. Direc
tors are non-salaried, elected on non-partisan ballot;
must give ' surety bonds.
A kilowatt of electricity saves 13 hbur3 of human drudgery
on the farm. Approximately 1,200 customers are being
served. Funds are available for connecting 6.200 more.
Rural Power is ENTIRELY A FARM PROBLEM. Custo
mers on private company lines cannot be served. Rural
Power is NON-COMPETITIVE with Private Industry.
In Eastern Nebraska the City
Vote Predominates
The REA prefers FARMERS for directors. Members from cities do
not grasp the farm situation; they nearly always cause dissention;
they "gum the works." ... A city candidate spent money lavishly
in the primary. Now a "slate" has appeared, apparently well
financed, to control the Board of Directors. Rural patrons are
alarmed; they cannot understand WHY MONEY IS BEING SPENT
TO GAIN OFFICES PAYING NO SALARY. So a number of pros
pective customers decided to appeal to the electorate. We solicit
Support for Outstanding Farmers for These Positions
If you had a. tough job undone in the city, would you
hire a 72-year-old farmer on a six year contract? Cer
tainly not! Then WHY ELECT WILLIAM BISCHOF,
AN AGED CITY MAN, TO DO A FARM TASK?
For the long terms, farm groups urge
the selection of the following:
E. H. BOETTCHER T. E. WHEELER
CHARLES WARD
All are Successful Farmers, Patrons or Prospective Patrons!
MR! BOETTCHER of Otoe County was appointed a director
Aug. 1. Since that time he has organized the Douglas pro
ject and is ready for construction. Local labor will be used.
MR. WHEELER, of Nemaha' County, has been vice-presi-
dent since Aug. 1. He organized the drive which result
ed in securing the .loan to build Project 3--Eastern Cass,
Eastern Otoe, Eastern Nemaha. .'
MR.' WARD is a prospective customer. He Is well and
favorably known throughout Cass and adjoining counties.
To Fill Vacancies, We solicit Support
for the following:
For 4-Year Vacancy . I GUY JONES
For 4-Year Vacancy . . GEORGE W. ARMBRUST
These two men were persuaded to enter the primaries. They
were unopposed. "Last Minute" petition candidates
have been filed against them.
For the 2-Year Term. . . . .LeMOINE BEACHEY
For Short Term. . ... .C. H. BRODD
We respectfully urge the Importance of these Selections
