Mr. and Mrs. Ernest C. Giles had
a very pleasant surprise Monday
afternoon when Mr. and Mrs. Charles
D. Munsil of Ellenburg. Depot, New
York, drove Into Plattsmouth in their
Packard sedan bearing a Clinton
county. New York state license plate.
These friends are from their home
town in northern New York and
hsvo hn neighbors for years to
both the Giles and Sheldon families,
Mr. and Mrs. Munsil were on a
business trip to Ames, Iowa. They
were impressed by the size of our
mid western states, saying that they

ATTEND FUNERAL SERVICES

Mr. and Mrs. Emmons Ptak and
Mr. and Mrs. Fred H. Sharpnack,
were at Lincoln today where they at
tended the funeral services for Mrs.
Mable S. Harris, 36, sister of Mr.
Sharpnack.
Mrs. Harris died at the family
home, 3400 C street, Lincoln, on Fri
day night at 10:30 following an Ill
ness of several months duration.
Mrs- Harried died at thetabgkq
She i3 'survived by her husband,
Guy M. Harris; two daughters, Mari
lyn and Carol; parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Herbert Sharpnack, Lincoln and two
brothers, George of Lincoln and Fred
H.of Plattsmouth.
The funeral was held this after
noon at 1:30 at "Wadlow's chapel in
Lincoln with Rev. Walter Aitken of
Seating. Vera Upton sang at the
service and with Bernice Blinde as
accompanist at the organ. Chapter
14 bf the Eastern Star had their
ritualistic services at the grave at
Wyuka. -;
BUILDING NEW HOME
Mr. and Mrs. John Gochenour are
building a fine new home on the
hill west of their old home, on
Gochenour's Island, they were forced
to evacuate their old home due to
j the flood waters and much property
I was damaged. The new home is
situated on the hill, well out of reach
of future flood waters. ' : ' s

daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry
Rainey, is here to recuperate from a
recent operation for appendicitis. She
is at the home of her grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. W. II. Puis and family.

From Tuesday's Daily ,
Mr. and Mrs- Sam Con is of Perry
Iowa, wereh ere today to visit with
Mr. Conis' brother, George Conis and
family. They later motored to Ne
braska City, accompanied by George
Conis, to visit ut the Gus Stavron
home.
Rotary education served as the
theme of the Rotary club at their
weekly luncheon Tuesday and which
was provided as one of the Import
ant features of the Rotary year.
Judge A. II. Duxbury had charge
of the program and7 had arranged
ten questions on Rotary, its purposes
and objectives of the organization,
the answers being given by different
members and showed the interest
that it had taken in the work of the
great international group.
Frank A. Cloidt presented a com
munication from the headquarters
of "the International Rotary, relative
to the organization of a Rotary in
stitute, participated in by groups of
five clubs in closely united sections
of the districts.
President Arthur Troop of the club
gave a very interesting account of
his visit at Lincoln where Paul Har
ris, the founder of Rotary was the
chief speaker.
