Has Happy Birthday
The filth birthday anniversary of
Joy Ilild. daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Verner Ilild. was observed Sunday
nt the family home west of Mynard.
The little guest of honor had the
pleasure of having with her at the
LIrthday party, both of the grand
parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. A. Ilild of
this city and Mr. and Mrs. NT. F.
Hennings. as well as the maternal
great grandparents. Mr. and Mrs.
Henry Ahl of Louisville. The family
enjoyed a fine dinner and suitably
celebrated the anniversary of the
little one.
From Crete the party will return to
Ohio by way of the Ozarks and Ken
tucky and Tennessee to a summer
camp at the Ohio lakes.
Guests at Gass Home
Miss Olive Gass is enjoying a visit
from cousins from Berea, Ohio, they
being Mr. and Mrs. Edward Donohue
and two sons. From here they go to
Crete where they will Le joined by
another cousin. Miss Luella Carter.

A very pleasant surprise party was
given at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
John Blotzer for their daughter Helen
in honor of her 16th birthday on

Mrs. Guy Hughson entertained at
dinner Monday evening at her home,
honoring Mrs. George Ileekathorne
of Hutchinson, Kansas.
Those present were Mrs. George
Ileekathorne, Mrs. John NTiday, Miss
Dorothy Xiday. Cecil Niday, and Mr.
and Mrs. John Klimni, all of Union,
Mr. and Mrs. Hughson and their
three children, Lois Jean, Richard
and Norman.

ful birthday dinner.

Mrs. Ray Bryant won second. Mrs.
Lon .Henry was a guest of the club.

Delores Ruse, Bonnie Walter, Shir
ley Chamberlain, Betty Gayer. Betty
and Berniece Halmes, Margaret and
Mirian Fricke. Ruth Westover, Billy
Sylvester and Margaret Rea were
motored Sunday by their parents to
spend three enjoyable days at Camp
Brewster, and their parents motored
for them Wednesday evening.
RETURNS TO CHICAGO
Miss Alice Louise Wescott, who
has spent several weeks here visit
ing with her parents. Mr. and Mrs.
C. C. Wescott and other relatives and
old friends, returned Tuesday to Chi
cago where she has been employed
for the past several years. Miss Mar
ion Fricke, of Lincoln, a cousin, ac
companied Miss Wescott for a visit of
a week at Chicago.
VISIT OLD FRIENDS
Mr. and Mrs. William Holly, of
Omaha, for many years residents of
this city, in company with Mr. and
Mrs. Albert Young, the latter for
merly Miss Elizabeth Holly, were
here Monday afternoon. They came
down to spend a few hours here with
W. R. Holly and meeting the many
old time friends.
WINS SWIMMING-. HONORS
Mary Eleanor, daughter of Dr.
and Mrs. W. S. Eaton of this city;
was among the winners of the swim
ming contest held at Peony Park,
in Omaha Sunday "in a keenly con
tested field. She was second in the
AAA swimming event.
