Edward Laurensen and Lester Wunderlich of Weeping Water were looking after some business matters heri Monday and later continued on to Omaha. Mrs. Margaret Brendel, democratic candidate for register of deeds, was calling 011 friends in the western part of the county the fore part of the week. Van Allen, who was taking, his vacation last week, was spending several days with friends and rel atives at Sidney, Iowa where they formerly resided. Dick Beverage, dispenser of the products of the Continental Oil com pany out of "Plattsmouth was in Mur ray Monday morning supplying gas to the local dealers. Mr. and Mrs. Custer Allen were host and hostess last Sunday for a number of relatives and friends from Sidney, Iowa, they being Clarence Allen and wife, the former a brother of Custer Allen and Mr. and Mrs. James Chase and son. Billy, also of Sidney. M. G. Churchill and friend were over to Shenandoah last Sunday and visited the broadcasting stations and other places of interest. Mr. Chur chill reports that the crops in some places were needing rain while in others the crops, especially corn, was looking fine. Mrs. Chr'issie Perry, of Los An geles, arrived in Murray Sunday eve ning, being brought here by her brother. Parr Young, who met her in Omaha. H. Steffens and wife, they stopping to tell Henry Heebner of the passing of his son, Warner Heebner at the Clarkson hospital in Omaha last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Steffens also went, to see their son, Laverne Steff ens who underwent an operation in the Clarkson hospital Sunday and is reported as doing very fair. Mrs. Wm. Kidder, a faster of Mrs. Margaret Brendel, making her home at Sargent wlis spending the week end at the home of her sister, Mrs. Brendel In Murray and was also a guest a part of the time of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Seybolt. Dame Rumor had it that a sturdy bachelor, business man of Murray and a comely widow were united in mar riage last Sunday, but where. Dame Rumor would not be specific, either in Omaha, Papillion of Shenandoah, but after making inquiries the re porter is of the opinion Aunty Rumor has made a mistake. Improvement at Murray Corner. One mile east of Murray, known as the "Murray Corner" the home of the Rock Creek service station operated by W. L. Seybolt and the property of G. M. Miuford, was the scene of activity last Monday morn ing when Charles Hula with his com plement or workmen was excavating and installing a double federal sani tary unit. This is for the convenience of the traveling public. G. M. Min ford was down from Omaha looking after the work and as well meeting with his many friends. Picnic at Krng's Park. The Sporer family, with all its branches, including Wm. Sporer, his son, Martin Sporer and family, wife and two daughters, Chester Sporer and family, wife and two children and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sporer, made a day of it with an abundance of good things to eat went to Krug park in Omaha last Sunday where the picnicked for the day and en joyed the amusements at the park.
