Mrs. Edpar Wescott and Mar jorie Ann Tidball entertained at a birthday dinner for their mother, Mrs. John Tidball. The guests were Mr. and Mrs. E. K. Wescott, Mrs. P. II. Murdiek and Tad. Entertains at Dinner Mrs. Anna Zitfca entertained at a family dinner yesterday in honor of her sister and husband. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Jaske of Omaha. Mr. Jaske is employed by the Union Pacific rail road in Omaha and is soon to be transferred to Los Angeles. Califor nia. They are leaving for Los An geles Tuesday. The guests were Mr. and Mrs. E. A. FUmar of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wiysel of Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. Jaske. Dorothy and Earnest Zitka and Mrs. Mary Jelinek. Shower for Bride One of the pleasant pre-nuptial events tendered Miss Bernese Kafi'en berger was held Friday at the home of Mrs. Henry F. Xolting with Mrs. Elmer Trltsch and Mrs. Walter Tritsch as the associate hostesses. A short program was given during the afternoon and which comprised two vocal numbers by Robert Tritsch and a piano offering by Shirley Seiver. The ladies enjoyed a mock wedding that added to the fun and enjoyment of the afternoon. Mrs. Earl Becker served as the minister. Mrs. Don Seiver, as the bride and Mrs. Elmer Tritsch as the groom. Robert Tritsch and Mary Lou Becker served as the train bearers. The bride carried a shower of choice gar den vegetables. In honor of her forthcoming mar riage Miss Kaffenberger received a large number of attractive gifts. The event was closed by the serv ing of a delicious luncheon by the hostesses. were served. Mrs. Arnold was as sisted in serving by Rose Rouse, Audrey Baird, Mrs. Russell Arnold. Mrs. Earl Harris and Mrs. Charles Koke. Dinner for Mrs Tidball Yesterday Mr. and Mrs. E. II. Wes cott entertained at dinner in honor -f Mrs. John Tidball's birthday. The guests were Mrs. Carter Strand of Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Wescott of Lincoln. Mrs. P. H. Murdiek and lad. and John and Marjorie Ann Tid ball. The decorations were a beauti 1 i.l cake that was the gift of the 'laughters and a tray of gilts for her. From Tuesday's Daily Dinner Party at Murray Mr. and Mrs. O. A. Davis enter tained at a six o'clock dinner Sun day Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Tutt. Lee -Vickies. Miss Etta Nickles. Mrs. Fan nie Crosser and Mrs. 1). J. Pittman. The evening was spent in playing cards. N.. 0. Birthday Club I Members of the X. O. Birthday club were entertained Friday at a one o'clock luncheon at the beauti ful country home of Mrs. Axel Zaar. The table was beautifully decorated with pink roses and white china. Games were played and contests held, after which the time was spent look ing at the lovely owers on the farm. Mrs. Florence Coleman was prize winner, her prize being two beauti ful walnut shelves made by Mr. Zaar. The afternoon was thoroughly en joyed by the ladies. Celebrates Birthday Wednesday, June ", at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Arnold, little Miss Freda June Arnold celebrated her 10th birthday. Freda's birthday cake was a delicious angel food, decorated with pink frosting and pink candles. A large number of little friends came to help her cele brate. Freda received many useful and beautiful gifts. At a suitable hour refreshments of home made i--e cream and cake Celebrate Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Lester Capps enter tained at two tables of pinochle Sat urday evening in celebration of their 20th wedding anniversary. Those at tending were Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Manners. Mr. and Mrs. June Mar shall and Mr. and Mrs. Merritt Kerr. Prizes were won in the games play ed by Mrs. Albert Young. Viva Pal mer, and Helene Parker. Advice to the bride was written by all those attending and sealed in an envelope to be opened on the first evening the bride and groom are at home alone. The bride-to-be received many beautiful and useful girts. The prizes were won by Mrs. John Alwin who was first while Mrs. Flor ence Coleman was second for the messages and also a handsome day cake that had been prepared by Mrs. Rex Young, a niece. Mrs. Adams, then Allie Ilenton. came to Plattsmomh v. hh her par ents seventy-six years ago and lived here until she was sixteen years of age and then moved to Iowa where she lived for eight years, then re turned to Ci:ss county whtre she has since resided. When a child she attended the pri vate school at the home of General and Mrs.R. R. Livingston, one of the first schorls in the community. After her marriage to Joseph 11. Adams the family resided for many years on the farm near this city and where they were very streessl'ul in their work and by their thrifty ef forts enabled them to retire some twenty years ago and move to Platts-mouth. Shower for Jane Persinger Miss Jane Persinger was surprised last night at a handkerchief shower given by a group of her girl friends at her home. Miss Persinger is soon to move with her parents to Auburn where she will make her home in the future. She has a large circle of friends here who will all regret her leaving Plattsmouth. The girls were entertained dur ing the evening with piano and vocal selections given by Mrs. Everett Pick ens. Delicious refreshments were served. VISITS AT PLAM0EE From Monday's Dally Plamore park, popular resort of "Rick" Lindsay cm the north side of the Platte river near La Platte, had a very distinguished visitor last night. Spencer Tracey, noted film actor, who is at Omaha to film the story of "P.oybtown." dropped down with two of his directors to enjoy a visit at the resort.
