For the Year Ending February 1,

Secured Jobs.
Of the 1,034 Cass county residents
who secured jobs through the Platts
mouth office of the Nebraska State
Employment Service in the year end
ing February 1, 331 were placed in
private industry, according to Edith
Solomon in charge of the local of
fice.
Private jobs were most numerous
in June when 97 persons were placed.
October and April were second high
private months being equal with 4 2
jobs each.
Public placements, chiefly on the
river with a scattering of highway
work, accounted for C33 jobs. A to
tal of 72 clearance placements were
made of Cass county applicants to
jobs at other points in the state.
The relatively large number of I
private placements made is in line
with the policy of the Nebraska State
Employment Sevvice in emprasizing
placements in private industry.
With the approach of spring the
number of farm placements is ex
pected to show a marked seasonal increase.
