Warga, accompanied by A. V. Ckiidt and Emery Doody, were at Omaha today where they are attend ing the Nebraska Hardware Dealer's association meeting which is in its second day. TAKEN TO HOSPITAL From Monday's Dally Mrs. T. P. Cacy was taken to Omaha this morning where she will enter the Clarkson hospital for an operation for goiter, having suffered from this for some time. Fred W. Tritsch, who has been with the John Deers Plow Co., at Omaha for the past year and a half, has received a very fine recognition of his services. He has been pro moted to a more responsible position at the Sioux City, Iowa, branch of the firm. CLAUDE CARTER IMPROVING Friends of Claude Carter will be glad to hear that he is much im proved and was able to sit up a little while yesterday. Pattie Metzger have passed away. W. A. Swatek, of the firm of Bestor & Swatek, was at Omaha Tuesday where he attended the meet ing of the Xebraska State Hardware Dealers association. There was a very large number of the dealers from all parts of the state in attend ance and fine programs given. While at the meeting Mr. Swatek met Fred W. Ebinger, of Plainviow, former resident here and one ;f the prom-! inent figures of the association. Mr. j Ebinger is to visit here before he, returns home. N ASKS FOR PROBATE UNION MAN DIES The first filing of an estate for the month of January in the county, court was filed Monday afternoon,; January 31. This was a petition for! the probate of the estate of Domingo, of Weeping Water di(d several weeks ago. Jesse who ASKS TO DISCONTINUE AGENT LINCOLN, Feb. 1 (UP) An ap plication by the Burlington railroad j for permission to substitute a cus-j tcdian for an agent at Rohrs in t Nemaha county was on file vith the! railway commission today. j The railroad said traffic has de- clined to the point where an agent's M services no longer are needed. John William Sheard, 79, and a resident of Cass county for the past fifty-two years, died Sunday at his home in Union. Mr. Sheard was a native of Leeds, England, and has spent practically his lifetime in the United States. He has been ill for the past two years. Mr. Sheard is survived by the widow, Mrs. Jane Sheard, three sons, Ed of Modale, Iowa, John, of Platts mouth and Charles of Nebraska City; three daughters, Emma Gillespie, Ne braska City, Laura Polis of Nehawka, Florence Walters, Thurman, Iowa; seventeen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. SHOWING IMPROVEMENT Plattsmouth friends have received word from Garold Holcomb, now at the U. S. Veterans' hospital at Hines, Illinois, that he is feeling much bet ter. Mr. Holcomb is at the hospital to take treatment for a heart ail ment and already5 feels very much improved but must spend some time there undergoing treatment. IN VERY SERIOUS CONDITION Mrs. John Sutton, of Omaha, for merly Miss Bertha Kaufmann, of this city, is very seriously ill at her home in Omaha and little hope is held for her recovery.
