and the Clerk instructed to call for
new bids to be filed on or before
noon. Tuesday. January 4th.

Purchasers at Tax Lien Foreclosure
Sales Must Pay Taxes Delinquent
During Pendency of Sale.
LINCOLN, Jan. 21 (UP) The
state supreme court ruled today that
purchasers of property at tax lien
foreclosure sales must pay all taxes
which have become delinquent dur
ing pendency of the action before the
sale can be confirmed.
The purchaser also must pay tax
which becomes delinquent within
two years after a sale, Judge Charles
Eldred held in interpreting a law
passed by the legislature of 1935 to
enabel counties and municipalities
to foreclose on tax liens so that
property on which taxes are delin
quent which cannot be sold for taxes
can be placed back on the tax rolls.
The decision dealt with an appeal
by Beth Millcn, a stenographer, who
purchased at a foreclosure sale prop
erty held by her employer, William
Ehlers in the village of Ralston.
Douglas county. The court refused
to confirm the sale until she shows
that she has paid taxes and assess
ments which had become delinquent
since the time the village started its
foreclosure action.

sor might embark for the United
States on the liner Normandie on
January 29, were doubted today iu
usually well-informed circles. The
report had been published previously
and had been denied. The duke and
duchess have been engaged recently
in seeking a house near Paris as if
intending to spend some time here.
