Propst and daughter, Clara Lynn, of Jacksonville, Florida, were here Wednesday as guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. V. La rue. They are visiting the relatives and old friends in this section of the state. The propst family formerly made their home here. Union and Nebraska City. Honored on Anniversary Last night Mr. and Mrs. John Hiber were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Bestor at a dinner given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hiber's daughter. Miss Mary Hiber at 108 Drake Court, Omaha, in celebration of their 55th wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Hiber were married In Plattsmouth at the St. John's Cath olic church by Rev. Father Lynch on November 10, 55 year.s ago. They have seven children and eight grand children, all living. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Rokahr of Phoenix, Arizona, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hiber of ranged in the colors of purple and Riverton, Wyo., were not able to be present, but all of the Test were pres ent. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hiber and son, Edwin, from Plattsmouth; Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Bes tor of Plattsmouth and daughter, Lois of Lincoln; John Kenneth Bestor and Mr. and Mrs. R. II. Bestor of Platts mouth; Miss Eleanor Hiber of Platts mouth; Mr. and Mrs. John V. Hiber of Hastings, Nebraska; Miss liuiua Spahne of Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. Hiber received many messages, -telephone calls, telegrams, and cards of congratulation besides receiving many flowers and gifts. Attend Omaha Banquet Mr. and Mrs. William A. Robert- were at Omaha Wednesday eve- eoii ning where thoy participated in the formal banquet given by the Red Cross of Constantine for their ladies. The banquet was held at the Hotel Fontenelle where a very fine program was presented with Dr. L. M. Kuhns as the chairman of the program and William C. A very fine and scholarly paper on "Religion and Art in the Greek Church," prepared by Dr. David C. Hilton, of Lincoln, was given. This was the thirty-fifth anniver sary of the establishing of the chap ter in Omaha and was marked by a fine talk by Lewis E. -Smith, grand secretary of the A. F. & A. M. of Nebraska. Mr. Smith told reminis cences of the early days of the chap ter and compared the conditions now and then, this being very much ap predated. pital. Mr. Iloschar celebrated his 67th birthday. B. club met with Miss Laura Meisinger last night. First prize was won by Mrs. Frank Bestor. Mrs. Emil Ptak won second prize and Mrs. H. A. Schneider won third. Missionary Society Meets The Women's Foreign Missionary society met at the Methodist church yesterday. Besides a good attendance of members there was a large num ber of visitors from Omaha and Weeping Water, some of whom spoke. Many Standard Bearers also attend ed. Miss Beulah Reitz gave a very in teresting talk about her experiences as a missionary at Rhodesia, South Africa. Mrs. Hal Garnett and Mrs. Merrit Kerr sang a duet, accompanied by Mrs. O. Q. Hudson. Tea was served, after which Miss Reitz told some more of her experiences. To Visit West Coast- Mrs. R. R. Bennett, of Big Springs, Texas, arrived Thursday afternoon for a short stay here with relatives. She is leaving Saturday in company with her grandmother, Mrs. Phillip Thierolf for the west coast. They go to Los Angeles where Mrs. Thierolf will spend the winter with her daugh ter, Elsie Thierolf. Mrs. Bennett will go from there to Medford, Oregon, to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. A. F0RK0FF ILL Lewiston Social Club The Lewiston Social Circie met at at the home of Mrs. Louis Burbee for an all day meeting, on Nov. 9. Mrs. Will Cook was the assistant hostess. The meeting opened with roll call, followed by the reading of the last minutes. As the the next meeting will be in the nature of a Christmas meeting, it was suggested that each one bring a gift for a gift drawing. The next meeting it at the home of Mrs. S. Y. Smith on December 14, with Mrs. Donald Harris assisting. The meeting was turned over to the project leaders after the members sang a song and gave the Flag Salute The leaders, Mrs. Will Cook and Margaret Moore, presented the les son on "The Family Christmas", They read the commandments for Christ mas, stressing the need for the true Christmas spirit that too often is neglected. Some practical ideas were given for gifts to be made at home, including aprons, string bags, greet ing cards, and toys, for children. The remainder of the afternoon was spent in visiting. Mrs. George For n off has been con fined to her home for several days as the result of a severe attack of stomach trouble.
