Transactions
of County Board
During June
Belated Report Includes Long List
of Claims Allowed, Including
Assessment Expense.
It is almost too late to attempt re
view of June meetings of the Cass
( unty Commissioners, but due to a
rush of other work, the Journal has
Icon delayed in printing other than
the Hoard of Equalization transac
tions up to now. However, believing
that our readers like to scan the
monthly claim bills no matter how
belated they may appear, we are giv
ing them to you now and will fol
low in about two weeks with the
July meetings review.
At early June meeting approval
v as voted in a resolution for substi
tution of securities by Farmers State
bank of Avoca and American Ex
change bank of Elmwood. At meet
ings a day or two later, similar reso
lutions approving substitution of
reruritits by the First National and
the Nebraska State banks of Weep
ing Water.

ilaim deed transferring the South

of years ago located just south of
the old Higley house in South Park
addition. )
Application of Offcar J. Butt and
a later one by ilrs. .1. II. Fidler for
the sale of beer at Lake Park, near
South Bend, were both rejected by
the Board.
A claim made by Fred II. Sharp
nack for refund of taxes paid under
protest, covering property in Block

by the Board.

Hobby exhibits are to be on display
at the windows of Wescott's store,
Bates Book Store, Conis Shining Par
lor, Plattsmouth Water corporation,
and Brown's shop. The purpose of
these exhibits is to encourage the
IS. 92 i building of character by encouraging
hobbies among the boys and girls of
this community.
A boy or girl who has the strength
of purpose to interest himself in a
hobby or craft will show the same
strength of purpose in later years in
j battling life, and will become a lead-
tr. A boy or girl without a hobby or
'special activity interest soon becomes
