ILL AT HOSPITAL
Father J. J. Hoffman, of Auburn,
formerly priest at the St. Patrick's
church at Manley, is at the St. Jo
seph hospital at Omaha. Father Hoff
man has not been in good health for
some time and it was found necessary

UNDERGOING TREATMENT

few weeks here at the home of his
grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Li. B.
Egenberger, during his school vaca
tion. Bernard has spent the greater
part of each summer here and has a
large circle of young friends vho are
pleased to see him here with them.

South Bend. Indiana, returned this
morning and expects to leave Tues
day for his home in the west. He re
ports that the conditions are excel

The Missouri Pacific Transporta
tion Co., has filed a request with the
state railway commission to allow
the discontinuance of bu? service be

The company cited gross revenue

Mr. and Mrs. John Galloway of
Omaha, are the proud parents of a
fire seven pound daughter which ar
rived at their home Sunday. All are
reported as doing nicely and the ad
vent of the little one has brought
a great deal of happiness to the fam
ily. -The friends will join in their
well wishes for the little lady.

First Methodjst church, is at Lin
coln this week where he is in at
tendance at the summer school of
theology. Ilev. Wright has charge of
the section of the course of study de
voted to "Doctrine and Discipline"
and "The Teaching of Jesus."

This morning John Lee, of Pacific
Junction, received a fine fo $10 and
costs in the court of Judge Charles L.
Graves on the charge of intoxication,
the amount being settled and the de
fendant being sent on his way.
Sunday It. Walgren was given a
fine of $10 and costs for intoxication
by Judge Graves.

Robert W. Sherwood, former resi
dent of this city, who has been quite
ill at Los Angeles, is now reported
as some better. He nas been aoie
to leave the hospital and is at the
home of friends where he will spend
his recuperative period.
