Dr. Frank Molak attended the den
tal convention in Omaha last evening.
Mrs. Margaret Todd, assistant post
master of Murray was a Plattsmouth
visitor yesterday.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Kennedy spent
last Thursday evening at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Lon Crosser, helping
Lcn celebrate his birthday.
Mrs. T. llenrichs of Hastings with
her sou, Ralph and wife of Inland,
visited at the D. E. Waller home
Wednesday and Thursday of last
i week.
Miss Ruth Ferric was able to re
turn from the hospital yesterday aft
ernoon. She is recuperating at the
'home of her sister, Mrs. Carl Chris-

the farm home of Mrs. Georgia Cream
er and sure it is looking much bet
ter. Glen Rutledge of the Nehawka En
terprise was looking after some busi
ness matters in Murray last Tuesday
afternoon.
Floyd Moore, operator for the Bur
lington at the Oreapclis tower, was a
visitor in Murray for a time last Mon
day evening.
Frank E. Vallery of Omaha was a
visitor in Murray last Monday and

ters lor a short time.

Omaha were enjoying a visit with
the mother of Mrs. Dueschot, Mrs.
Edna Deles Denier Sunday.
Mrs. Vesta Clarke, manager of the
telephone exchange and Mr. and Mrs.
Earl Merritt were visiting in Union
for the day last Wednesday.
John Vantine was in Murray and
superintended the construction of a
garage, the work being done by some
of the carpenters of Murray.
Dick Baker, living south of Rock
Bluffs has been very sick with a se
vere attack of the flu and while he
is improved he is still very sick.
Professor Harold Greer of the Mur
ray schools and Dayle Long were
spending last Sunday at the home of
the parents of Mr. Greer at Schuyler.
E. J. Nutzman and Carl Balfour,
both from the other side of Nehawka
were looking after some business mat
ters in Murray last Monday after
noon. Mrs. Ona Lawton and son Lyle of
Omaha, were visiting relatives and
friends in Murray last Sunday, guests
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. A.
Young.

Sunday afternoon, Edward White,
a member of the extra crew of the
Missouri Pacific, stationed at Mur
ray, was taken to the St. Joseph
hospital -at Omaha. Mr. White has
been quite ill and it was found
necessary to have him taken to the
hospital for treatment.

F. Evers, superintendent of the Ne
braska Masonic Home, motored tc
Lincoln. They will attend the fun
eral services of Orville A. Andrews,
past grand master of Nebraska, who
died suddenly Friday. The services
are to be conducted by the grand
lodge of the Nebraska Masons.

Making Changes at Garage.
J. A. Scotten and Albert A. Young
last Monday were building an out
side stairway to the basement of the
garage building and some other work,
thus providing an entrance to the
lower portion of the building which

The road running southwest of
Murray, is being put in better con
dition and will be hard surfaced,
thus making it easier to travel in bad
weather.

Plattsmouth was a visitor in Murray
and vicinity looking after some coun
ty business in connection with the
road running south from Murray.
Dr. and Mrs. G. H. Gilrnore were
in Union Saturday where the doctor
was looking after some business mat
ters and both were visiting at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. D. Ray Frans.
Miss Helen Hunter and Mrs. W. C.
Tippens of Plattsmouth, were visit
ing in Murray for a time last Monday
afternoon, guests while here of Mrs.
Fred L. Hild and Grandma Mrs.
Katherine Perry.
Dr. R. W. Tyson was called to
Union last Saturday night where a
man named Terrence Jones had a
fractured ankle. Dr. Tyson gave first
aid and then sent him to the Veter
ans' hospital at Lincoln.
Homer Miller of Plainview where
he is rural mail carrier, accompanied
by Mrs. Miller, were visiting in Mur
ray for over the week-end, guests at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Long
and Wm. Sporer and the boys.
J. H. Browne and wife and Mrs.
Susie Berger, all of Omaha, were
visiting in Murray last Monday and
as well over to the cemetery where
they were cleaning out the surplus of
grass and beautifying the graves of
friends.
Thos. Smith from Bloomfield and
who is engaged in a service station
some six miles east of his town at
the junction of two highways, has
been visiting friends and looking af
ter business matters in Murray dur
ing the past week.
Mrs. Georgia Creamer has been
very ill with erysipelas at her home
east of Murray. Her niece from North
Band is here assisting in her care
as well as Mrs. Homer Shrader. While
everything possible is being done she
is not showing the desired improve
ment. Earl Terhune was over to Omaha
Monday of this week and made the
purchase of a car, which he drove
home with him. He had known the
car as it had been owned by a party
in te country here and traded to Om
aha parties, and knowing the car Mr.
Terhune felt safe in buying it.

Took Preshies Down the Line.
The sophomore class of the Mur
ray high school in an initiation to j
the school fraternity took the seven
members of the freshman class for a
walk to the Murray corner last Mon
day evening and there left them sup
posing that they would have to walk
jhome as well, but it chanced that they
got a ride back to Murray. However
they all seemed to be having a fine
time. The members of the freshman
class to enjoy the experience were
Leona Allen, Margaret Baker, Lois
Gerking. Harry Griffin. Dallas Red-
iden, Elwin Koolman and Keith Todd.
Enjoyed Sunday Evening Visit.
The Rev. E. G. Sloan and wife with
their car and Mr. and Mrs. Guy Wiles
with their car took a number of the
young people of the Murray Pres
byterian church to Omaha last Sun
day evening to a pageant presented
at the Congregational church of
South Omaha.
Enjoyed Wonderful Dinner.
Nearly three hundred people last
Sunday visited the Lewiston Com
munity Center where a dinner was
being served by the ladies of that
popular community center. Many
people from Plattsmouth, Murray,
Union, Nehawka, Nebraska City and
Weeping Water were present and all
were loud in their praise of the won
derful dinner.
Picnic at Waubonsie.
A party composed of J. A. Davis
and daughter ( C. M. Meade and fam
ily were over to Waubonsie lake near
Percival where they enjoyed a pic
nic last Sunday and were also joined
by Misses Evelyn and Lois Meade,
who are attending school at Tarkio
(Mo.) college.
Injured at Play.
As noted last week the departure
of James Tilson and wife and son,
Douglas and Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Morris and their eighteen month old
Married 44 Years.
Mr. and Mrs. George S. Ray were
celebrating the passing of their 44th
wedding anniversary last Sunday, Oc
tober 18th and were also taking their
dinner at the Lewiston Community
Center. Their grandson, George
Thompson was also celebrating the j
passing of his twenty-first birthday
anniversary, but was spending the
same in Marysville, Mo. He concluded j
he would go to Marysville last Satur
day to celebrate the birthday and as
an inovation concluded he would
hitch hike it. He started and got
only two rides and was in Marysville
in the evening.
Received Their Friends.
During the afternoon and evening
last Monday Rev. E. G. Sloan and wife
entertained an an open house mem
bers of the United Presbyterian
church and the community. Rev.
Sloan and wife are to depart for their
new field of work in Pennsylvania
the first of next week. Many of the
members and citizens called to wish
them luck in their new location.
