Omaha symphony orchestra, sponsor
ed by the WPA, made a short stop
here for breakfast while en route
south. They enjoyed their meal at
the Shea cafe and then continued on
to Pawnee City. They are to appear
there in a public entertainment. This
is the orchestra that played during
the coronation ceremonies at the
King Korn Karnival.

Women's Project Clubs
Begin Year's Work.
The 1936-37 Women's project club
year officially opened, Wednesday,
September 30th, when the first train
ing meeting of the year was held at
the Congregational church in Weep
ing Water. Similar training meet
the date they are received.
' Mr. Gaines has a library of 1200
plays at disposal. You may obtain
copies of the above circular at the
Farm Bureau office, and requests for
the plays should also be made
through this office. Why not make
plans now for the presentation of a
play once each month as part of your
community recreation during the late
fall and winter months?

The first home game of the Platts
mouth high school football team will
be staged here under the floodlights,

be Valley high school and who are
to be accompanied by a large group
of rooters to enjoy the contest.
The work of installing the poles
and lights is now being rushed by
a force of the NYA boys under the
direction of Jake Cook and who will
have the equipment in place in plenty
of time for the opening game.
A dedicatory ceremony will be held
at 7:30 Friday evening and the game
will be called at 7:45 sharp, this
time being set for all games.
