Airs. Harold Porter visited Mon
day afternoon of this week with Mrs.

The W. C. T. U. will meet with
Mrs. Orville Robertson on Friday
afternoon, September 25th.
Rev. Donald Springer, who was as
signed as the Methodist pastor, ar
rived in Eagle Monday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Pettit of Lin
coln announce the birth of a son,
born Thursday, September 10th.
Mrs. Lydia Mueuchau of Elmwood
spent Saturday at the home of her
son, W. E. Muenchau and family
Rev. Zimmerman and family of
Springfield called at the home of
Mrs. Irene McFall last Sunday after
noon. Mrs. Bertha Wulf and Mr. and Mrs.
Lloyd Vance of Lincoln visited
Thursday evening with Mrs. Fauline
Ollerman.
Harry Robertson made a trip to
Plattsmouth on Saturday of last
week and took care of some matters
of business.
Mrs. Anna Klietsch spent several
day in Lincoln the latter part of last
week with her son, Fred Klietsch
and Mrs. Klietsch.
The Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs.
L. W. Piersol were Mr. and Mrs. Ed
ward Porter and Mr. and Mrs. Harry
Piersol and sons of Lincoln.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Spahnle of
Fastings are spending their vacation
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. R.
Peterson and other relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Thomson and
son from near Palmyra spent Sunday
evening with Mrs. Thomson's par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Wall.
Mrs. Emma Judkins and Mrs. O. S.
Anderson of Lincoln motored to
Union last Sunday afternoon and
spent the afternoon with relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Charles from
near Lincoln were the Sunday din
ner guests of Mr. and "Mrs. J. W.
Horn. Mr. Charles and Mr. Horn are
cousins.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Oberle came
out from Lincoln Saturday evening
and visited over Sunday with Mr.
Oberle's parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. C.
Oberle.
Mr. and Mrs. V. A. Paine enjoyed
a visit with Mrs. Paine's parents,
Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Allen of Beaver
Crossing, who spent several days here
last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Paine and
family of Wausa and Mr. and Mrs.
Henry Kroeler of Lincoln visited at
the V. A. Paine home last Friday
evening.
Katherine and Lloyd Dobeck are
staying with their grandparents, Mr.
and Mrs. Chas. Trumble while their
mother is recuperating from her
present illness.

from Grand Island. They were ac

churches at Garrison and Brainard.

Eagle School Organized.
The Eagle Consolidated school
opened Monday, September 7th, fori
registration. School Avas closed on
Tuesday, giving all the students an
opportunity to attend the state fair.
The faculty includes eleven teach-
ers for the present school term. Only
four of the present force were in-
structors during the past term.
The following are the teachers and
the grades or subjects each teaches:
Supt. M. E. Boren, history; Prin
cipal Howard Hatcher, coach and
English; Lois Pierson, mathematics
and. commercial; Norbert Glaum,
music and English; Clarence Slosson,
agriculture; Zelma Waldron; home
economics; Edna Merriman, 7th
grade; Dorothy Durman, 6th grade;
Annabel Stannard, 4th and 5th
grades; Vivian Hawkins, 2nd and 3rd
grades; Deva Armstrong, 1st grade.
The high school enrollment is
somewhat smaller than last year due
to the fact that both the freshman
and senior classes are smaller than
last year with an enrollment of 16
and 12. The members of the sopho
more class number 19 and the junior
class 24. There are 124 pupils en
rolled in the grades.
MAKRIED AT COURT HOUSE
At the office of Judge A. II. Dux
bury on Saturday evening occurred
the marriage of Miss Wanda Lee Per
kins. Kansas City, and Richard J.
Muller, of Omaha. The bridal couple
was accompanied by Mr. and Mrs.
Edward Smith, who witnessed the
ceremony. The party later returned
to Omaha to receive the well wishes
of the many friends.
VISITS OMAHA MARKET
From Monday's Daily
This morning Mr. and Mrs. Ralph
E. Gansemer, from west of Mynard,
were in the city while en route to
Omaha. They are looking after some
business matters and Mr. Gansemer
will make the purchase of some cattle
for fall feeding at the farm while at
Omaha.

deed being completely fijled out ex
cept for name of buyer and insertion
of purchase price, and the contract
invests him with authority to fill in
this information and pas3 deed to the
new owner. Merchantable title is
guaranteed.
This building is a desirable busi
ness property but like all others
owned by out of town parties who
cannot be here to look after rentals
and upkeep, is not nearly so good an
investment as when owned by home
parties who can personally supervise
the same.
The terms are 20 per cent cash
at time of sale and balance within

ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION
We, the undersigned, hereby as
sociate ourselves together for the
purpose of forming a banking cor
poration as provided by the laws of
tne state or Nebraska, and do adopt
the following Articles of Incorpora
tion:
Article I The name of this cor
poration shall be UNION STATE
BANK.
Article II The principal place of
business of this corporation shall be
at Greenwood, County, of Cass, State
of Nebraska.
Article III The object for which
this corporation is formed is to carry
on a commercial banking business as
provided by the Laws of Nebraska.
Article IV The authorized capi
tal stock of this corporation shall be
525,000.00, of which at least $10,
000.00 shall have been paid in at
the time of commencement of busi
ness, which shall be issued in shares
of the par value of One Hundred
(100) Dollars each. No transfer of
the stock of this corporation shall
be operative until entered on the
books of the corporation.
Article V The indebtedness of
this corporation shall at no time ex
ceed the amount of its paid-in cap
ital and surplus except for deposits.
Article VI This corporation shall
begin business on the 1st day of July,
1936, or as soon thereafter as auth
orized by the Department of Bank
ing of the State of Nebraska, and
shall terminate on the 1st day of
July, 1966.
Article VIII The affairs of this
corporation shall be under the con
trol and management of a board of
directors consisting of not less than
three nor more than five share
holders, whose term of office shall be
for a period of one year, or until
their successors are elected and
qualified, not less than a majority of
whom shall be residents of the coun
ty in which the bank is located 5r
counties immediately adjacent there
to. It shall be the duty ot the board
of directors to elect from their num
ber a president and secretary, and
select a vice president and cashier,
and they may also select an assist
ant cashier and such other clerks and
assistants as the business of the
corporation may require. The term
of office of the officers of this cor
poration shall be one year, or until
their successors are elected and
qualified. The board of directors may
adopt such by-laws for the regula
tion and management of the affairs
and business of the corporation as
it may deem proper.
Article VIII The regular annual
meeting of the stockholders of this
corporation shall be held on the first
Tuesday of January each year, at
which meeting the board of directors
above provided for shall be elected.
A majority of the shares of stock of
the corporation at any regular or
special meeting shall constitute a
quorum for the transaction of busi
ness. Article IX Until the regular
meeting of the stockholders of the
corporation, the following named
persons shall constitute the board
of directors: L J. Dunn, B. M. Han
son. E. A. Landon.
Article X Each stockholder shall
at any regular or special meeting be
entitled to one vote, either in person
or by proxy, for each share of stock
held.
Article XI These articles of in
