Yeiser and children, Jack, Andy and Susane, were visit ing at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A, F. Sturm last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Guade, of Dun bar, were here Sunday for a visit at the home of Mrs. Guade's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Kruger. Walter J. Wunderlich and Grover Iloback were in Plattsmouth Monday afternoon, where they had Borne business matters to look after. The automobile of Albert Meyers became unmanageable while he was driving to town and ran through a fence, damaging the car very badly. James David of Auburn was visit ing at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Goodman, of Nehawka, and was also looking after the obtaining of employment on the river work. Mrs. John Perry, of Los Angeles, ha3 been visiting with her mother, Mrs. Sarah Young, for the past few days and also renewing acquaintance with her many other old friends while here. Mrs. John Campbell was a visitor in Nehawka last Saturday, being a guest at the home of her sister, Mrs. Emma Chrisweisser. The aunt has been sponsoring the education of a daughter of Mrs. Campbell, who has completed a year of her training with the close of the present school term. C. H. Boedeker, Sr., who since his return from Iowa, where he spent the winter, has been making his home with his daughter, Mrs. John L. Young, was a visitor at the home of his nephew, E. J. Boedeker, last Sunday. This was his first trip out since his return home. He is feel ing quite a bit better at present. Visiting at Imperial Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Fitzpatrick, of Imperial, were visiting and look ing after some business matters in Omaha and came on down for a visit at the home of Mrs. E. J. Boedeker, the latter a sister of Mrs. Fitz patrick. On their return home Mon day, they were accompanied by Mrs. Boedeker, who will visit at Imperial for a time with her mother, who resides there. Improving from Injuries C. H. Peck and wife, Miss Maurine Cisney and her parents, A. G. Cisney and wife, were in Omaha last Sun day, driving up to visit Bobbie Cis ney, who was severely injured when kicked by a horse Tuesday of last week at one of the hospitals there. They found the young lad showing good improvement and with prospects of being able to come home in a short time. Attend Silver Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Omar Schlichtemeier and the mother of Mrs. Schlichte meier, Mrs. Tilda Johnson, were in Lincoln last Friday for the forty seventh anniversary meeting of the Alumni of Wesleyan college, where both Mr. Schlichtemeier and his wife graduated Just twenty-five years ago. In connection with the banquet, a special tribute and honor was paid to Dr. Alabath, who has just completed twenty-five years as dean of the uni versity. Mrs. W. T. Schlichtemeier also attended the festivities. Passing of Young Girl Gertrude Irene Fleshman, only daughter of Vernon and Lela Flesh jiian. was born at Nehawka on May 11, 1921, and passed away at the University hospital in Omaha from heart complications on May 25, at 3:30 a. m.t aged 15 years and 14 days. The loving care of parents and medical skill 6eemed of no avail. She was taken to Om aha, where everything possible was done to relieve her suffering. Her life was short and full of suf fering the past five years, but to know her was to love her, for her sunny disposition and forgiving spirit won her many close friends. She was always grateful for every kindness shown her, and with a smile for ev eryone who helped her in this try ing time. She was a member of the Camp Fire Girls and the Home Guard3 of the Methodist church, a3 well as a pupil in the public school, sharing in its activities, especially in Music, as much as her strength would permit and in her own sweet way filled a place that even many older ones could not. She will be greatly missed in the home and by her friends. Irene leaves her parents, two brothers, Vernon, Jr., and Kenneth, two grandmothers and other close relatives and friends. Funeral services were held from the M. E. church in Nehawka on Wednesday, May 27. Rev. W. A. Taylor, of Union, officiated. Inter ment was in the Mt. Pleasant ceme tery. Held Memorial Services Sunday Memorial services in Nehawka were held Sunday, under auspices of the American Legion, aided by the American Legion Auxiliary. The ap propriate ceremonies were held at the Nehawka auditorium, attended by a large audience. Prior to this the graves of the soldier dead had all been marked with a Hag and flowers. Dr. G. H. Gilmore, of Murray, com mander of the Nehawka Legion post, was in charge of the ceremonies and directed the entire program. The principal speaker was Mrs. Robert Armstrong, a prominent member and state president of the Auxiliary, and the wife of a former state Legion commander. CARDINALS From "Wednesday's Dally Last evening the BREX team of the local softball league continued their winnings by annexing a 9 to 4 victory from the Conis Cardinals. The Cardinals started in to work on the carmen in the opening stanza of the game and gave the fans a vision of the old dope bucket being kicked over, the boys from west of the city checking up four runs in their part of the first, Gauer and H Meisinger hitting for doubles. In the third the Cards picked up another run when Heim poked one of Dick March's offering for a circuit drive. A walk and two errors in the third gave the carmen a score and in the fourth inning they started places and were never headed. Two hits, one a double by Hall, as well as errors gave the BREX four runs in the fourth. The Cardinals were shut out after the third inning.
