October meetings of the county commissioners held on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd, were largely devoted to the allowance of claims, and the transac tion of routine matters, among them receipt of quarterly reports from the various county offeers and the se lection of names from which to draw petit jurors for the November term of district court. On the opening day of their ses sion, quarterly reports were received from the County Judge ($1,473.84); Register of Deed3 ($S97.50) ; Clerk of the District Court ($565.25); County Clerk ($29 7.31) and County Sheriff ($169.00). Application of J. C. Laughlin for "On and Off Sale" beer license in the unincorporated village of Cedar Creek v.a3 approved by the board. Claim of St. Joseph's hospital in amount of $72.75 for services to Wil liam Shea, elated March 16, 1934, and filed March 19, 1934, disallowed. At the second day's session the cora imissioners approved orders by the County Judge granting mother's pen sion to Mrs. May Bauers of Green wood, revoking the pension of Goldie Fotoma, account getting married, and renewing the pensions of Vernetta Ilobson, Edna Jones, Ruth Taylor, Lena Reehle, Janet Simons and Zola Gilbert. On the third day of their session, the board selected eighty names from which to draw the Jury for the No vember term of district court. RECEIVES SAD NEWS From Saturday's Dally Mrs. Agnes Chapman of Lincoln, arrived here last evening to be a guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Val Burkle, the latter a cousin. Mrs. Chapman has just received the sad news of the death of Miss Mary Jamison, a former Plattsmouth school teacher, who has been making her home at San Francisco. While in Cali fornia last summer Mrs. Chapman had a pleasant visit with Miss Jami son and the news of her death came as a great shock to her. Miss Jami son passed away on August 18th after a two weeks illness. Kaffenberger, one of the well known residents of this portion of Cass county, was honor guest at a very delightful birthday party on Tuesday evening at his home on high school hill. Mrs. Adrain Edgar, of Wymore, a daughter, with her chil dren, George and Phyllis, -were here to assist in the delightful event. The occasion was featured by a dinner party and in which the centerpiece was the large birthday cake denoting the .69 years of life of the guest of honor. Besides the members of the family present were Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Knorr and children and Mr. and Mrs. E. 11. Wescott. DENTAL OFFICES EOEBED Wednesday noon while Dr. E. H. jKintner and Dr. A. O. Specht, Weep ing Water dentists, were at their home3 for the mid-day meal, their offices were entered and robbed. The parties committing the robbery took all of the gold that could be found in the offices, not touching any of the other articles. The robbery was discovered shortly after the return of the dentists and the matter reported later to the office of the sheriff here.
