The young people of the Lewiston rvimTnunitv are Dresentine a 3 act play, Dec. 24. "Everybody's Getting Married." There is a well selected the direction of Mae Shrader. The three act comedy of "Every body's Getting Married." has been postponed on account of unpleasant weather conditions, but this play will be presented Monday night, Dec. 24 at S o'clock. Miss Geraldine Suddith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Suddith has had a severe attack of the flu. She is some better however, and hopes to resume her studies at the Platts mouth high school soon. Phillip Keil was over west of My nard la3t Monday where he was dressing some porkers and making sausage for Stubb Tritsch. Phillip says he never saw a denser fog than prevailed on that day. Since the discontinuance of the work on the river R. A. Noell who was working there, is making his home In Murray and has been assist ing Alvin Meisinger in the butcher ing of hi3 hogs, getting them ready for the winter's use. Earl Lancaster has been very busy wjth tbe farm force cutting and hauling wood for the winter, he hav ing purchased an acre of standing wood last year and not U3ing it all has cut the remainder this winter and has hauled it home and ready for the stoves. Visited Friends Eere. Mr. and Mrs. C. K. Frans and Mr. Frans mother, Mrs. Belle Frans of Nebraska City where Mr. Frans Is engaged in the barber business, were visiting in Murray for a short time last "week. Mr. and Mrs. C. K. Frans returned to their home while the mother remained for a longer visit nd will be guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Long and Mr. and Mrs. John Frans until after the first of the year. Makes a Very Busy Place. The grading room which Is in the store building just east of the Lan caster store is one very busy at this time with five graders and five young men at work all the time and four more machines ordered and which are expected to arrive In a short time They are grading sweet corn for the coming market in the spring. There was much less sweet corn grown dur ing the past season than for many years and the demand will be very heavy for this as well as ether seed when spring comes. The Frederick Seed Co. are endeavoring to supply the deficiency. Making Trip to Missouri. John Henry Poynter, Edward Wil liam Poynter and Albert Hlckey with the latter's car, departed early this week for Bland, Mo., where they will visit for the holidays. This Is the former home of the Poynters. This Time V-Three. Altho the V-8 is a great car and has been attracting much favorable comment, the V-Three is the style in which W. S. Smith has his win dows dressed at the store. He has been very tasty In the dressing of it and is attracting much attention. Knights Templar Hold Election of Officers Monday Lester W. Meisiuger Named Com mander for Ensuing Year In stall at Next Meeting. Monday evening Mt. ZIon com mandery No. 5 of the Knights Temp lar held their annual election of of ficers, a large number of members being present to take part in the meeting. The following officers were select ed for the elective offices, the other officers being appointed later by the new commander: Commander Lester V. Meisinger. Generalissimo Harrison L. Gayer. Captain General William F. Evers. Treasurer Frank A. Cloidt. Recorder Frank L. Barkus. The new officers will be installed at the next regular meeting of the commandery. committee which had been sent to Lincoln to consult with the state of ficials. This Is one of the very hard est of problems. Entertained Younger Set. Mrs. S. Y. Smith at her home south of Murray on the highway was hostess on last Tuesday at a meet ing of the Social Circle club when they met and enjoyed a very pleasant day, all taking a portion of the eats, enjoying their work and visiting. Have Pleasant Session. The Murray Study club are meet ing Thursday at the home of their fellow member, Mrs. C. D. Spangler, where they are enjoying a fine pro gram which they had prepared and making an inovation into the realm of new books and getting somewhat acquainted with the authors as well. Tntertained Younger Set. Miss Thelma Pitman was hostess to a large number of the younger set at her home south of Murray Thurs day when they enjoyed a very pleas ant afternoon and a very fine pro gram which was followed by a de lightful luncheon. MAKE FINE CONTRIBUTION The Fraternal Order of Eagles and the public are entitled to a great deal of credit for the fine response that they have made to the Good Fel lows campaign to provide treats for the little folks. The Eagles on last Saturday evening gave their dance as a benefit for the fund and R. W. Knorr, president of the Business Men's Ad club was today presented with a check for $40.50 as the pro ceeds of the dance and which will go to providing treats for the children. This is a fine spirit and the F. O. E. can feel proud of the showing in helping out this worthy cause.
