camp of the FEU A will tender a for
mal reception to the residents of the
community on the occasion of the
completion of the permanent build
ings of the camp that will house the
eighty to ninety hoys and young men
that comprise the camp membership.
This camp has grown into one of
the large enterprises of the govern
ment in this section of the stale arid
during the time that it bus been in
operation has cared for a large num
ber of the boys.
The camp is located on a farm of
150 acres that is devoted to farming
and dairying, there being twenty-
five head of cattle, all of the work
being done by the boys themselves.
The cows in the herd at the camp are
milked twice a day and serves to
supply the camp with milk.
The new mess hall, with the kitch
en in connection will seat 125 per
sons at one time and will be one of
the big improvements in the camp
facilities for the winter.
In the preparation of the meals
the menus are supervised by the reg
ular chef of the camp and who is
assisted in the work by the boys from
the caiup personnel.
The offices of the camp as well as
the canteen that is maintained at
the camp are under the direction of
the chief clerk.
It is planned with the new mess
hall that various entertainment fea
tures will be given by the boys them
selves or visiting entertainers and
will aid in making the winter season
at the camp a great deal more pleas
ant. The new barracks will provide
fine comfortable quarters for the
boys during the winter season and
in connection there will be main
tained bath houses which will be
operated by the members of the
camp.
WOMAN HANGED IN A CELL
Gotha, Germany. Frau Worch,
wife of the former mayor of Tan
geriesen .was found hanged In a cell
at Graefentonna, where she had
been imprisoned after eighteen
months in a concentration camp.
Frau Yv'orch and her daughter were
held as hostages after Mayor Worch
fled from Germany because of nazi
enmity. The mayor, in early days of
naziism, ordered police to take ac
tion against the new movement.
GERMAN CELEBRATION
Deshler. Neb. The German so
ciety of this place will hold a cele
bration Sunday, Oct. 14. There will
be a musical program in the after
noon anc addresses will be made by
Dr. W. 11. Werkmeister of the Uni
versity of Nebraska, and C. H. Bind
erup of Minden, democratic candi
date for congress. A German play
will be given in the evening.
GUNMEN GET DIAMONDS
St. Liouis. Joseph Goldmuntz,
New York Jeweler, was robbed of a
traveling bag which he said contain
ed between $50,000 and $00,000
worth of uncut diamonds when two
men held him up In a taxicab near
union station.
