from V-8 Team
Last Evening
Chevrolets Also Win From the Eagles
6 to 3 to Make First Place
Ties in League.
The kittenball fans gathered by
the hundreds last night at Athletic
park and had the opportunity of wit
nessing two mighty good games be
tween the BREX and the V-8 teams
and the Chevrolets and the Eagles
with wins 6 to 5 for the BREX and
6 to 3 for the "Chevies."
Thfi twilizht came between the
shopmen and the V-8 team was one
that drew probably more interest
than any game that has been staged
at the park this year and the feel
ings of the two teams as well as their
loyal fans was manifested through
out the contest.
The BREX and V-S's both played
a bang up brand of ball and many
brilliant plays were made on both
teams to make the game plenty fast
and snappy, the V-8 team being es
pecially noticeable for their fast
work in checking the base runners.
The game was one hard fought
from the start and it was not until
the last cut was secured that the
contest was definitely decided.
In the sixth the V-S team had a
4 to 3 lead on the shopmen but a
strong rally by the BREX tied up
the game and then gave them a two
point lead that was later threatened
but the V-8 hitters were held by the
brilliant fielding of the BREX.

Chevies Win Last Game.
The Chevies won -the nightcap of
the evening in a hard fought game
and in which they took an early lead
that was never headed and won 6 to
3 when the last out was checked up.
In the last contest considerable , ex
citement was created when Hubert
Dew drove a circuit clout and was
declared out as it was claimed that
he failed to touch third base.
The hurlers of the game were Dr.
L. S. Pucelik for the auto group, and
Thimgan for the Eagles. ,
