Mowery and (lau ghter. A. R. Birdsall was a visitor on last Wednesday where he was call ed to look after some business mut ters for a short time. P. A. Sanborn was a business vis itor in Lincoln last Monday, called there to make some pure liases of goods for the store here. Mrs. Celia Gates of Bethany wfl a visitor in Greenwood last week and was attending the Woman's Foreign Missionary Society of the Methodist church. Earnest Proctor of Neligb, is visit ing for some time at the home of his friend, James Stands of near Waver ly. and is visiting here often with his many friends in and about Green wood. Andy Mayes, the genial and ac commodating drayman and who keeps the people of Greenwood warm by delivering coal to their homes, took a day off on last Wednesday and was spending the same at Lincoln, Mrs. F. M. Hoenshell of Wymote was a visitor with friends in Green wood for a number of days last week and oti Wednesday morning departed on the early train for Omaha win re she will visit for a time before the Christmas season. A. B. Wilson of University Plaee. a minister of the Methodist church, was in Greenwood one day last week when he was attending a meeting of the Foreign Missionary society of that church which was held at the church on last Tuesday. Glen Peters who has been enjoy ing a vacation from his work in Om aha for the past month, was asked to return to his duties and on last Monday went to Omaha, and was ac companied by the father. O. F. Pet ers, who drove over to the big city to take the son. which was credited to some one else i us he stayed behind a screen, while he did his work. Other features which attracted marked attention were rendered by Clyde Newkirk, ' Barnest Proctor and Harry Hugh. One fun provoking feature was the broadcasting station FLT with Phil I L. Hall as the announcer. Eats, sure they had them and all enjoyed them at that. Mr. E. E. Brunkow presid ed at the piano and charmed all with her music. Married at Glenwood. Married at Glenwood. Iowa. Eastern Star Kensington The Eastern Star kensington was pleasantly entertained on last Wed nesday afternoon at the home of Ifrs. Myrtle Coleman with Mis Lola Al len assisting hostess. The business ! meeting was called to order by .Mrs. Armstrong acting as president. She showed the comforter whic h the ied lies had pieced, and she and Miss Lo la Allen had tied and finished. There being no ' further business the remainder of the afternoon was spent in a guess ing contest in which Mrs. W. A. White won the first prize. Camp Kester, the local ladies camp of the Modern Woodmen of America, now being organised at Plattsmouth under the very efficient direction of Field Deputy, Mrs. Lonize Johnson of Omaha, gave an entertainment on Dec. 18th, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Finnefrock, for mem bers and the class of candidates en tering the mysteries of woodcraft in Camp No. 332 on January 14th. Tho is was impossible to reach all members with notice of the enter tainment, there were quite a crowd in attendance. The large and spec ious rooms of the home was hand somely decked in seasonal decora tions. The evening was one of much mer riment, the time spent in games, mu sic and dancing. Fred Vincent. Meredith Chancel lor, Tommy Mendenhall and Miss Mary Chancellor were the lucky prize winners of the evening. The visitors from Omaha were the Misses Lois and Doris Johnson. Dainty and delicious refreshments were served at a late hour and all went home looking forward to the next joint entertainment which will be at Eagles hall on the eve of Jan uary 14th. DEBATE NEBRASKA CITY From Friday's Daily Yesterday afternoon tlie debating teams of the Plattsmouth high school met with the teams of the Nebraska City high school at the local school auditorium. The question debated was "Resolved, that the nations should disarm except for such forces as are needed for police protection." The local school had both an af firmative and negative team in the debate. James Begley. Stuart Porte and Madge Garnett being the af firmative team, while Robert Iiestor. George Lepert and Paul Iverson formed the negative team. The judges of the debate were At torney V. A. Robertson and Rev. H. G. McClusky, who after the debate awarded the honors to Nebraska City and gave the members of the teams many valuable suggestions as to their work in the debating line. E. church in Greenwood. The group con sisted of women from Lincoln. Cedar Hill, Ashland and Greenwood. Mrs. Maine, distric t president, op ened the meeting by Bible reading and prayer. Mrs. Grubb gave a talk on exten sion members which may be women who are not physically able to attend the regular meeting, business women women with small children or those far removed from place of meeting, also met. Mrs. High talked of Stewardship which means giving of prayers, per sonality and one-tenth of all our pos sessions, because of our love to God. the Father.
