The road building equipment was worn out. And prior to this date there were no County Patrols. Today funds of this district are in good condition, and we have good machinery to grade and maintain the roads. We have two maintainers working all the time and one half time on a laid out connected system of County Highways, consisting of 75 miles. I have tried to give all parts of the District a fair deal. All proceedings are on record. I invite your investigation. If you approve of this record, I am asking for your support at the Primary Election April 1 0, 1 928. C. D. IN 1920 Senator Robinson of Indiana has gone back to 1920 in a labored effort to besmirch the names of dead and (living Democrats with the oil scan- dal. I He pretends to see something sin- ister in the fact that Gov. Smith of New York appointed Harry Sinclair! 'to t-he State Racing Commission in j (1920; also that certain members of President Wilson's cabinet, after re- signing their portfolios, accepted pro- fessional employment from Sinclair . t i n s anl Doheny in 1920 In 1920 Hairy Sinclair was -an outstanding figure in the world of business and sport, especially the "sport of kings," and as such was a logical choice f6r membership in a racing commission. In 1920 Doheny was one of the grand old men of the oil industry 'who had battled his way from no where to millions, a virile two-fisted fighter still in the ring. The old man and the young man were both invested with the aura of romance. Doth symbolized the opportunity of American democracy. There wasn't a door of importance in the land, political, religious, industrial or so cial, that would not have swung in vitingly for either to enter. I, In 1920 Albert B. Fall was a j Senator from New Mexico, a person age of force, distinction and good repute, In 1920 Robert W. Stewart, after ia colorful career, had reached the I chairmanship of Indiana Standard's ooar(i cf directors. ' in 1920 James E. O'Xeil had pr0ved himself abundantly equipped ! for the job of putting Midwest on the map, from which the name of Cosden had all but disappeared. I In 1920 Will Hays, at his dynamic I peak, was possibly the Republican I party's greatest individual asset in point of promise. That is what was in 1920. This is what wasn't in 1920: No "little Green House on K street." No Elks lease and no "little black bag" with the $100,000 currency. No Teapot Dome, no Country Club at Three Rivers, no secret payments in bonds and cash from Sinclair to Fall. No Continental Trading Co., no profit of $3,000,000 at the end of a I larcenous day, no division of the swag, no flights from the subpena, ! no expatriates in Europe answering to description of O'Neil and Black- mer. No secret contributions to the Hardin g-Coolidge deficit under the camouflage devised by Will Hays. In 1920 the Indiana Senator's friend, Stevenson, was not serving a life sentence in the penitentiary at Michigan City. That unspeakable creature had not yet committed his crime of rape and murder. The indictment he has tried to return reveals Robinson of Indiana as a palpable fraud. :o: The Civil War veterans are go ing pretty fast. The last to go is our old comrad and friend, John W.
