A SH0WEE FOE FLEE VICTIMS.
On Tuesday evenlnpr of this week
members of the United Brethren
church of Nehawka and of Otterbein
church north of town decided to give
a miscellaneous shower for their pas
tor. Rev. Con Hewitt and wife. Every
member of the two churches and a
host of their friends were invited to
the Hewitt home where the affair
took place.
It was a miscellaneous shower and
many useful presents were received
by the minister and his wife. Those
who did not brine presents contrib
uted money so that the host and hos
tess could purchase what they liked.
There were a large list of donors
and the amount of the cash present
alone amounted to $35.10.
Rev. and Mrs. Hewitt lost the
premier part of their cooking uten
sils and kitchen equipment when
that room of the parsonage caught
fire last Wednesday afternoon. The
loss to the parsonage was covered
by insurance but their personal be
longings were net insured.
After having had a very pleasant
evening the ladies who were back of
the entertainment served a luncheon
to those present.
Rev. and Mrs. Hewitt feel very
grateful to those who have helped
them in this hour and they will not
soon forget the spirit that always
prevails in Nehawka and commun

Attorney W. G. Kieck and vife
motored out to Lincoln this morning
to enjoy the football game and visit
with friends.
