Herbert Burbee is feeling pretty
well satisfied with his Ford sedan,
which he purchased last Saturday.
S. W. Copenhaver put in last Sat
urday raking and burning stalks,
preparing for early spring farming.
"Walter L. Havenridge and Miss
Mary Becker were in attendance at
the movies at Omaha last Saturday.
Ray Becker took a horse down to
Nebraska City which he had sold at
the community sale there last Sat
urday, Mr. Allen Mulli8 of Dunbar was a
visitor at the home of his sister, Mrs.
Henry Becker, for the afternoon last
Monday.
The missionary society of the Bap
tist church will meet at the home of
Mrs. Jennie Frans this Thursday af
ternoon. R. E. Foster shipped a car of cat
tle to the South Omaha market last
Monday and accompanied them to see
them sold.
Alex Eaton took a load of cattle
to Omaha last Monday morning for
John Becker and was home again be
fore noon.
At the home of W. W. Stokes where
all have been sick but Mr. Stokes,
they are showing nice Improvement
at this time.

J. A. Simmons the night operator
for the Missouri Pacific is kept to his
home and bed with an attack of flu
and has been very ill.
A. O". Fearsley shelled and deliv
ered at the Farmers' Elevator last
week some 4.600 bushels of corn from
his last year's raising.
George Ray living northeast of
Union has been very sick at his home
with an attack of the flu but is re
ported as being some better. I
W. L. Stine harnessed up his gas ;
engine and sawing machine and with
the other member of the family cut
up a large pile of wood last Monday.
J. D. Bramblett is the proud pos
sessor of a new Star car of the sedan
variety which he is very well pleased
with and takes much pleasure in
using.
A little son of Glen Campbell and
wife was taken to Omaha for treat
ment there having formed a tumor
in his stomach following an attack
of flu.
Donald Allen Hoback. young son
of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hoback, has
been having a siege with the grippe
but Is coming out of the struggle the
victor.
Mr. and Mrs. John Lloyd were
looking after some business matters
in Plattsmouth last Monday, being
passengers to that city on the early
morning bus. ,
Th World Wide Guild Girls of the
Prptis church enioyed an address by
Miss Hobert of Nebraska City last
Thursday which was well worth,
while going to bear. ;'
Senator W. B. Banning was home
last Sunday for the week end and
was also taking a little rest from the
work of legislating which has been
very heavy this session.
Harry G. Todd from near Murray
has been buying corn of the farmers
near Union and last week got the
corn of Luther Meade and H. C. Ross
it all being excellent corn.
The Men's Bible class of the Bap
tist church which has grown to be
an important factor in the church
work is still adding interest and new
members as the weks roll by.
