Mrs. Emma Thorpe of Omaha was
elected grand treasurer by three
votes over Mrs. Edna Silver at Sut
ton, Neb.
The seventy-year settlement clause
enabling a member to draw her in
surance benefit at the age of seventy
years, was passed during the after
noon session. The delegates also
adopted a resolution making the na
tional fraternal rates compulsory In
all the state lodges. Formerly the
lodges might adopt the adequate
rates or the national rates at their
own option, but of the 275 lodges in
the state all but thirty-three had
adopted the national rates.

will close his Nebraska speaking tour
in the interests of the state demo
cratic ticket, with three addresses
next Monday. He talks at Milford
Monday morning at 10 o'clock and
at Seward at 11. He will address the
state convention of the W. C. T. U.
in Lincoln at 2 p. m. Monday. Mr.
Bryan will then go to Minnesota and
Illinois to fill speaking engagements.
