There were two absentees, Gifiord of rawnee, against the tax, and Robert son of Douglas, who has not been in attendance at the session. Nine of theupporters of the bill came from Douglas and two from Lancaster. Only Poster and Smith of Douglas were opposed. In Lancaster county Sunimerlad and Moseley voted for the bill, while Jeary, Mellor, An dersen and Green were against it. The governor's two appointees, Car roll and Quade, also voted aye. So did one non-partisan leaaruer. One disgruntled supporter, half in earnest, declared the opposition was made up of democrats, non-partisan leaguers and renegade republicans.
