Cedar Creek, Nebraska iloney has quit talking and com menced to make signs we never saw before. :o: An optimist can always see the bright side of the other fellow's mis fortune. :o: Chicago has one cold storage plant which will accommodate 21,000 tons of meat. -:o:- The reason that a good looking girl is never sensible is because she doesn't have to be. :o: It seems almost impossible for, editors and owners of umbrellas to save anything for a rainy day. :o: An there is always more or loss rejoicing in community when a chronic kicker kicks the bucket. :o: We read that a Hapsburg prince has become a cabaret performer in IJerlin. Hut probably not a very good one. o:o How many millionairs must an actress wed and divorce before she has income sufficient to live with out working? :o: According to reports, Edsel Ford recently bought for personal use a' l.ig motor car made in England. No accounting for tastes. :o: In order to understand motorists, one has to own a motor, and also in order to understaand pedestrians one must walk a great deal. :o: The undertakers in Oklahoma City announce a ten per cent reduction on funerals. Hut who wants to have a funeral in Oklahoma City? :o: Robinson Crusoe's island, off the coast of Chile, is to be made a"liealth resort." Which usually means, now, that the place is to be 100 per cent "wet" :o: It looks like Jimmy Stillman is going to have a hard time counting' they moved the chickens that have been hatch ed both inside and outside the fam ily nest. o The Kansas miners have spent $25,000 attacking the industrial court law, and it is only beginning to take on the appearance of what the lawyers call a nice point. -:o: A local young man who asked his girl if she had ever read "Komeo and Juliet." The young lady replied that she had read Romeo, but did not recall having read the other book. . :o: World Almanac has an advertise ment reading: "Four full quart bot tles of Storm King Whisky, eight years old, $3.10, express paid." But don't get. excited; the Almanac is I uaiea i si'i. :o: One pint of buttermilk, the juice of one lemon and one ounce of su gar succeeds in making what it calls "buttermilk lemonade" which it de clares is a healthful and enjoyable drink. Hut you try It. :o: Muggsy McGraw, manager of the Xew York Giants, has been acquitted of the charge of having a quart of booze in his possession. That's noth ing to be proud of. Lots of us could be acquitted of that charge. :o: An English scientist has discovered evidences which lead him to believe the Romans burned coal. The evi dence, while interesting, is incom plete. S far it has not been shown that the Romans had any strike prob Icms. :o: A Denver clergyman allowed to edit a newspaper for one day, killed all murder stories brought in over the wires. That's about as logical as de nying th; crucifixion of Christ mere ly because the event on Calvary was bloody. :o: A Michigan woman wants a di vorce because her husband, she says. is lazy and worthless, and has forced her to move twenty-one times in four years. She is entitled to her divorce if her husband was lazy every time id walk a paile tdt a U aisaei A Connecticut farmer appeared in New York the other day saying that his wife is the missing Dorothy Ar- t ,i,,Hn,r .. t iv,i-.n.! n n ,1 frinrin?r nold. The reason they took the matter into court probably is that neither will come out from behind the cow long enough to shoot it out, and the cow is worth $40. Sam Gompers, president of the fed- i ertion of Labor, during his recent honeymoon stopped at an open-shop hotel ic" Buffalo. Moreover, the pro prietor of the hotel was the leader of the hotel men's war on the unions. L'r'er Sam is certainly losing his grip. :o: Mr. Edison thinks the use of mo tion pictures in primary schools as a substitute for books would greatly hasten the processes of learning. Perhaps it would, but probably it would depend somewhat on the kind of pictures used and the kind of books Ihey displaced. :o: Ted Robinson of the Cleveland Plain Dealer says Hamlet, Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet are so packed with "quotations" thai they sound like trite "compositions" now. And Anthony's address over the body of Caesar it sounds as if the author had stolen his lines from American editors in campaign year. :o: The administration is said to be considering the advisability of hold ing up the Knox peace resolution until it is seen how the allies per form on our Yap and other demands.) Well, the country is so accustomed to being at war with Germany that a1 short spell more of it probably would make no difference from the view point of normalcy. The pleasure is worth it. There's no sub stitute, for Camel quality and that mild, fragrant Camel blend. The fellow who smokes Camels, wants Camels. That's because Camels have a smoothness, a fragrance and a mildness you can't get in another cigarette. Don't let anyone tell you that any other' cigarette at any price is so good as Camels. Let your own taste be the judge. Try Camels f or yourself . A few smooth, refreshing puffs and you'd walk a mile for a Camel, too. R. J. REYNOLDS Tobacc C. Winstoo-SaUm, N.
