Gathering at Presbyterian Church
Yesterday Afternoon Quite
Largely Attended.
The Woman's Missionary society
of the Presbyterian church held a '
unique meeting in the church par-'
lors yesterday afternoon. The occa
sion was entertaining the babies of
the Little Light Bearers and their
mothers. In spite of the shower that
fell just at the time of gathering, a
Ijjrge number of mothers and babies
came.
The church was attractively dec
orated in spring blossoms.
The program, under the direction
of Airs. II. (5. McClusky. was appro
priate and enjoyed by all. It was ren
dered by the children of "Light Bear
ers" age and those participating in
it were Ethel Quinton, Helen Sharp,
Margaret Iverson. 'Catherine Mc
Clusky, Jean Caldwell and Alice
! Bulin. They gave two very pretty
little Missionary dramas.
The music for the afternoon was
furnished by Marjorie Shoop and
! Helen and Edith Farley and was en
: joyed by all.
I The refreshments were dainty and
!a delight to all. The babiew were
'remembered especially, with animal
cookies and junior stick candy, plus
ice cream.
Several babies gave little verses,
i rongs and stunts they are used to
doing at home. These were greatly
enjoyed. A number of names were
added to the baby Missionary cradle
! roll "The Little Light liearers."

Constipation is one of the great
American ills. The causes are nu
merous. Sedentary habits, the rush
of our life which does not permit us
to take sufficient time for lunch and
dinner, innutritive foods, ice drinks
and other causes may he held respon
sible for that "most common trouble
of our days." But we have also a
great American remedy for this ill.
Triner's Bitter Wine is its name. It
cleans the bowels and at the same
time fortifies them; it restores ap
petite and aids digestion. It is fully
trustworthy, also, ii; indigestion,
headaches, nervousness and other

DOING IMPROVING
The last few days the Lincoln Tel
ephone & Telegraph company has
had an extra gang at work in this
city re-arranging the toll line poles
that carry the lines of communication
from this city to Omaha. This line
has ben carried out Locust street to
Fourteenth street and thence north
to the Omaha end but with the plac
ing of new pedes and wires the line
will go up Ninth street to Fulton
and thence west to the Omaha high
way, doing away with the line going
out Washington avenue and Locust
street, and consolidating all the lines
into Omaha along the new route.
The telephone company is also
having some work done on the line
leading to the Missouri river ferry
which was disarranged some time ago
when the bluff along the river was
blown away to widen the road.
