reports that she complains bitterly
of the circumstance that her old
sweetheart. Marc Anthony, is living
on a higher plane than she. She,

for her sins, reports the medium.
But the fair Cleopatra may have been
misled. It is not improbable that
Anthony is not telling her everything

Our notion is that Marc is "stalling."

All over the state complaints have
been made of the fact that a large
number of the auto owners have
failed to secure their 1921 automo
bile licenses and are. still operating
under the old ones of last year, con
trary to the law of the state.
The complaints 1 have been such
that the state law enforcement bu
reau has decided to take part in the
campaign to 6ee .that the law is
carried out and the. auto owner who
is sailing around under the old li
cense number will probably find some
difficulty in getting away with the
goods when the round up campaign
gets going in full swing. All over
the state local officials will co
operate with the state officers in the
work of rounding up the law violat
ors and seeing that they get busy
tnd pay over the license money to
the state and county.
Incidently, a great injustice is
done by many of the residents of the
various counties in failing to secure
their licenses in their own county,
thus diverting the money, a large
part of which the law provides shall
be used for road work within the
county, to some other county. Those
who have failed to secure their li
cense so far should get busy and
call at the office of the county treas
urer of their county and liquidate
the amount before they get in trou
ble over the matter.

LAD SHOOTS HIMSELF
Fred Wessel. a nine-year-old lad
residing near Nehawka, suffered a
very severe injury a few days ago
when he was playing with a small
calibre revolver, which was accident
ly discharged and the ball entered
the palm of 'the right hand and came
out on the back of the wrist. The
injury was bleeding profusely and
the injured lad hurried into Nehaw
ka where Mr. Thomas dressed the in
jury and at last reports the boy was
j doing very nicely.
Yesterday afternoon the members
of the Woman's Auxiliary of the
American Legion enjoyed a most
pleasant meeting at the Legion
rooms in the Leonard building and
a large number of members were j
present to enjoy the event.
Th aftprnnnn was larirelv devot- '
ed to the business session and the I
ladies have decided on a membership'
drive that will be carried on before,
the next meeting of the organiza-
tion. two teams were cnosen neaa-
ed by Mrs. W. T. Melbern and Mrs.
C. L. Creamer, and the work of se
curing members will be vigorously
pursued. At the close of the con
test the losers will banquet the win
ners, and each side is confident they
will have the pleasure of enjoying
the feast at the expense of the other
side.
Not the' least of the matters de
cided upon during the afternoon is
the plans that were made by the
ladies for entertaining the members
of the Legion on next Tuesday even
ing at a "feed" at the club rooms.
and the ladies are preparing to make
the occasion of Washington's birth
day one of great enjoyment to the
former doughboy and gob Legion-
aires. all of w"hom are invited to be
in attendance.
Lack of kitchen facilities at the
club as yet, will hinder the ladies
some in their plans, but they prom
ise something highly pleasing to the
boys, and when the kitchen is com
pleted in the near future they will
be enabled to do even greater justice
to the appetites of both themselves
and the men folks.
